sadly, no. entire equations have been created to try and solve the Schrodinger equation. Not that it can't be solved, but it's the kind of thing we'd need a nobel prize winning physicist to solve for us (slight exaggeration), and then we probably wont get an exact answer.
In short, the Puppet master couldn't possibly expect us mere gamers to solve Schrodinger's equation in order to advance. The equation must allude to something we should be looking at, but as of yet there are too many variables. Anything we say now will be speculation until we find something else.
It can't hurt to speculate though, afterall, we might just hit something.

hmm err...meant ISP- my bad. Typo.
I'm also trying to think why bungie gave us THAT piece of the equation- if an answer lies within that small bit of it, or if it was to just hint at the larger, complete version.

see Vossk, you left for an hour and still nothing popped up... i don't think the PMs had enough time to pump out the next clues within that hour you sacrificed for us...

Well as the servers always seem to unlock while I'm at work, I think I'll head into work and see if it unlocks another server

Quantum equation We should not be expected to solve the equation, as we would need to be able to obtain a value for each variable, which I don't think is straightforward, especially in quantum mechanics. If the values were locked in, such as psi being 700, then the equation would boil down to a constant times a variable to get a result.
Have we found out the source of the photo in the book? The book must have credited the source. Maybe that will move us into the next phase.

I was just messing around and i typed in (m/pi)*e into google and got these numbers
It put these numbers into Centimeters
86.5255979
i took the square root of that which is
9.3019136687028
hope this helps at all
Edit: I noticed that rounding the 86 number would give 87, which is the first 2 numbers of that link to the PDF

I found the book at Chapters and checked that out earlier, but the only credit was a thanks to "Neel Shearer" who appears to be a friend of Steven Hawking, so it's likely a quick photo Neel took from an institution or some place. I doubt it goes any deeper as to have to contact him and find out details about the picture. He has nothing to do with Iris, and he's a close friend of Hawking (from what I could find from google). Better to leave him alone.
I think the significance (if there is any ) is the equation, the book and/or page contents.
edit: correction - Neel

Hi, I'm new to the site, and ARGs in general. Not sure how much help I'll be, but I'll do what I can. Anyway, what I thought I ought to mention is that I put modus through an anagram solver and one of the solutions that came up was 'do sum'. So, it's possibly 'do sum 108'.
http://wordsmith.org/anagram/anagram.cgi?anagram=modus&t=1000
Don't know if it means anything at all, but thought it might be worth mentioning.

In stats, modus = mode. So I searched for "mode 108" thinking that maybe there was a famous instance when 108 was the mode in an equation.
John Cage had a symphonic work titled mode 108. He was the same person that did the silent composition 4'33".
I'm not sure it's related, but something else to think about.
