This is an equation for a wavefunction the 0 subscript would imply its the system before anything happend to it (i.e the passage of time, an electron moving, whatever would be relevant to the system.) The bigger question is why put it there? Its going to have absolutely no relevance to anything unless this arg is insanely difficult something i seriously doubt bungie (or whoever they paid to make the arg) would do in attempt to advertise there product.

 Funny....

I looked outside the window, and saw chalk drawings Shocked , but then figured that it was probably the agricultural company that works at where I live.

back

yeah before when this post started i made the assumption from lacking memory to make the reference to quantum mechanics, and i was correct (thankfully)
but only partially,

although euler's number and phi (usually used in quantum mechanics)
i have found these in different permutations, but no one of them looks exactly like this, which naturally is how math works, different interpretations usually have the same result, so no confusion there. But as for this equation i t still escapes me because i can't make sense of it (mortal combat announcer voice:"Its official, you suck!")

also a random thought: we are probably talking about the rings (assuming) so we are talking about a mechanism that needs enough power to spread a certain radiation (more assuming) that would target sentient life so this would need incredible, astronomical amounts of energy, more then most stars or even micro-singularities (star trek/stargate based assuming) so we could probably stay with the quantum mechanical field and i will be the one to point the finger at zero-point energy

who knows this might lead somewhere

p.s. sorry for long post (just plain ASS- uming)

Quantum mechanics

Ok, one of my friends is a math junkie(lots of text books ad what not). He says its part of the formula to "permittivity of space". I looked all over for this theory and couldn't find anything. it is the theory of a number though my money is this number is 7. kinda like the speed of light varies but one number is used. maybe put someone on the right track just remember when it comes time to unlock a server hit me up YahsephSPLATclearwire.net

Apparently someone on args.bungie.org figured out what the formula was. Not sure if there's anything we could actually DO with it now, but it's Schroedinger's Equation. Maybe modus108 means something or 108 could somehow be plugged into the equation?

EDIT: The link would probably help

Interesting. possibly the time it takes for the halos to destroy everything?

Its not just the same equation, its taken from the exact same image of the equation (They overlay perfectly, when resized to match). I'm certain they got the copyright holders permission for it to. Certainly they wouldn't be violating copyright.

The statistical meaning of modus doesn't fit very well - it's the one that occurs most often in a data set. What does that have to do with IRIS or Halo? The only thing I could think of similar to modus is modulo - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Modular_arithmetic

But still nothing Sad

Personally, I don't think the math itself has anything to do with the puzzle. It's probably more to do with inversions and the way we got modus108 that will help us solve whatever we need to solve.

First of all, hello, i'm obviously new here, but i've been catching up with the information over the last day - alot to take in.

Anyway, I thought i'd make a post to point out that not only did that poster on args.bungie.org find the equation, what he neglected to mention was on what page - 107. Now, i'm itching to see page 108, which might be the key to Modus 108. Unfortunately the page is nowhere to be found online, other than the Amazon online reader, which I can't access because I haven't made a purchase on Amazon from a US account.
I'm thinking of going down to my local bookshop tomorrow to browse the Hawking book section...

So yeah, I hope that means something, and if anyone can get hold of a copy of page 108, that would be great.

I tried looking at it on the Amazon reader, but that page wasn't available. Someone is going to have to get a copy of the book if we want to find out what is on page 108.

I did search the Index on Amazon reader. I noticed 4 things on pg 107-108, although my eyes may have missed some:

Schrodinger's Equation
Wave Function
"Hidden Variable" Theories
Determinism

These are the topics discussed on these pages.

ok, well i'm about to get my stuff together and walk up to the library and bookstore, see if I can find a copy. I'll also see if I can photocopy it at the library and post it here.
Fingers crossed...
