Having said that, this theory has been posted many times already everyone on the board is familiar with it. We didnt need it rehashed again. Next time please search through the posts to see if what you want to say has already been said.

I understand what your saying...however with hundreds and hundreds of posts on this forum I don't have that kind of time. I came across this forum and I enjoy posts, hence my decision to join. Is this how you treat all new members to your community?

the Day After Tomorrow poster is really inaccurate. The arm holding the torch faces Staten Island where as in this poster, its on the side of Manhattan.

I didnt say you had to read every post, I just suggested using the search tool to search for key words before you post. I didn't mean any offence by it, it was just a suggestion for the future. You have to understand, for those of us who have been on this forum since the beginning (I lurked for a while before actually joining) it gets very tiresome seeing the same theories posted again and again. Repeated information (and the arguments they spawn) is one of the main reasons this thread is over 300 pages.

Anyways, welcome to the hunt.

He's saying to use the "Search" feature at the top of the page to search for keywords such as Ziz, Leviathan, etc. to see if they've been brought up already. You can limit the search to the Cloverfield forum and it only takes a few seconds.

At any rate, welcome!

edited to add: Oops! engdude posted while I was typing. I still stand behind my post though!

i cant read through 8 pages. im just going to state (and hopefully this makes sense):

*theory*

the photo of Monstrous was taken at the ComicCon

possibly by marketing to release it online or an employee that too a quick shot so he didnt get in huge trouble.

he made up the frank and sons story so he wouldnt get questioned.

its weird that people know this is HUGELY important to thousands of people and can sell the poster online for hundreds of dollars, yet, no one shells out $15??

The Leviathan and Behemoth are both described in Job, but the context is all wrong. Job was giving admiration for these creatures and neither one was on the path to destroy anything. Although, Job does note the creatures do some damage, but not with a malicious intent.

It should be interesting to note that the Leviathan is a water-borne creature that does indeed breath fire. The description in Job of Leviathan can be that of a dragon. The Behemoth could be reconstructed as a woolly mamoth.

However, this doesn't preclude any of the filmmakers from taking creative liberties with these creatures.

I would like to know where you got Ziz from. I'm not familiar with in the the Christian text of the Bible.

this sounds plausible. i'm sure they were setting up Comic-con by Monday when the first pics showed up here. and I too am suspicious about why nobody bought one of the damn things if they're so cheap. or bought like, a hundred of them and put them on ebay.

But what about Kristin over at:

http://cloverfieldparasite.blogspot.com/2007/07/higher-res-monstrous-poster-images.html ?

She says that she took pictures herself at Frank & Sons. The vendor at Frank & Sons could be a "plant" by J.J. Abrams, though. That would make sense to me, because that's the only place that we've seen this poster so far.

Actually, the most common thought I heard from people who'd seen it was that they were worried about legal implications of owning/buying a leaked poster. In this day and age, it would likely be seen as the same as bootlegged movies and illegally downloaded mp3s. And NO ONE should go to jail or have to pay fines for this game.

1. Please use the [Search] function.
When people refuse to look before posting "I don't have time to read, I hope this hasn't been said before, etc" that just adds to the repeated posts that creates the extra long threads that discourages folks from reading them in the first place.
2. We encourage polite conversation. The TOS for uF specifically points out that flaming and personal attacks are not allowed. Asking someone to use the [Search] key is NOT attacking. It's facilitating.

Thank you.

Jewish legends, as recorded by Louis Ginsberg, say that God created three animals: Leviathan to rule the seas, Behemoth to rule the land, and the Ziz bird to rule the air. This is a nice neat scheme, but clearly mythological

That's true Nerf, I hadn't though of that angle but if the RIAA can sue little kids and grandparents it isnt much of a stretch to imagine Paramount suing somebody for owning a leaked movie poster.

I can't help but thing that, if this were a real deal available to the public, people would be bidding thousands for it on eBay already.

Also, and I figure this has been mentioned... where's the shoreline? Is it me or does it look like the water is basically at building level?
