Strange phone message... Related? I got this in my voicemail earlier today. No caller ID attached to it. Since this is one of the only two ARGs I've given my phone # to, I'm wondering if anyone else has gotten such a weird call.

All I got was static? Did I do something wrong?

No, that's what it sounds like, but with what sounds like someone's voice slowed way down in the background.

I doubled the speed and tried to remove some of the noise with audacity. The metallic sounding reverb is an unintentional part of the noise-removal, since I'm not too good with sound. The cadence sounds like a voice, although I can't really pick out any syllables.

It's definitely a voice. It sounds a little synthetic, but that could just be the noise cancellation. I'm pretty decent with sound, so I can take a look at this more when I get off work this evening. If it is related, it would be an interesting new twist.

I played with it in Audacity as well, and definitely agree that it sounds like a voice once you take out the noise and change the speed and pitch.
However, it'd be good to examine how likely this is to be related to EE:
Cons :
this would be *really* out of style given the way the game has gone so far
no other EE-players have spoken up to say that they've received similar phone calls
Pros :
nothing else is happening, so why not this?
perhaps we have had some indications that she might reach out in other ways?

It sounds backwards. Is there anywhere I can get my hands on a copy of the wav file? Or maybe whoever has the file can run it through talkbackwards.com? I've played around a lot with reverse speech and most of it always has that mechanical sound to it.
edit: sorry, I typed that link wrong. Thanks for the correction Lovek!
Edited again: mind sharing the link to the backwards recording?

Looks like the site is actually, http://talkbackwards.com/ and it's pretty fun!
Playing this file backwards didn't do much for me, though.

I have been getting phone calls over the past day or so from an unknown number (that's how it shows up on my cell). But usually it's a few seconds of silence and then the person hangs up. It's rather creepy. And I did send BA my cell number.

Sorry about the double post, but listening to the first part of the cleaned-up recording I can hear what sounds like, "At seven thirty". I cant tell what the rest is though.

It sounds very much like "at seven thirty.."
Also, it sounds like an synthetic/automated voice to me.

Here's a list of possible matches: http://www.melissadata.com/lookups/phonelocation.asp?number=703-0500
You'll prolly need an area code to narrow it down any further. Multiple hits for FL, but not for Cassadaga (area code 386). No hits for Virginia, either (Harrisonburg, VA is area code 540).
