It's interesting that 3 of the 7 have now asked for specific feedback from the 'Myspace blogging community' --

Lily asked people to post more 'subway snippets.'
LenaDia asked people to post pictures (showing their 'personal style').
J.J. is now asking about a Minn. Vikings player (AP).

Seems like this might mean something (if anything in all of this means anything Rolling Eyes ). It seems curious that they've directly solicited interaction on specific topics - could they collectively point us to something?

Subway snippets + personal fashion + Minn. Vikings...

Hurm...

Nope, can't see it.

Still, it's curious.

No, it's a very good thing that they're soliciting activity. Especially in light of all the "this isn't an ARG", "This is moving too slow" and "nothing's happening" talk that's been a bit of a damper as of late. (I'm not saying it is or isn't, it's just a little disenchanting to read so much of it)

I say we ignore it until they give us something solid to munch on instead of
stuff that makes us chase our own tails.

You'll notice the last comment on Hawks space is from Aug 26 though I don't
know if that means much seeing as how they choose which comments
to put up.

The only reason I have the opinion I have is how many people have tried to correspond with these "characters" to no avail? Only to get nothing in return. I can go on Myspace and strike up convos with random strangers with no knowledge of how they really are as people and get more from them.

It's not so much from my perspective that I am a kiljoy or pessimistic it's just that there's just no "there" there. There isn't anything to really learn about the whole thing except the content of this movie itself. Which no one is going to allow to happen.

Sure we can get a backstory, which we are getting from the Myspace characters ever so slightly. We now know a bit more about them, and what they're like. But this in depth searching and scouring for clues seems like an ultimate exercise in futility.

You can't really learn more about a movie that you haven't seen until you actually see the movie itself, then go from there. That's my point. We can learn about how it's made, who is in it, the premise, the script, etc, but people are partaking this with this weird notion that they are going to find out more than the actual movie will give them.

I admire the way this movie is being done. Involving us to the degree that we are going to actually be kind of part of it but it's like the first movie to do this kind of thing and it's suffering from being that. First. The next time will probably be better. But this experiment thus far has been since the onset painfully tedious and slow.

Many people will remember this in January and either will feel the hour and change the movie lasts wasn't worth months of foreplay or just not see it outright. That is what Abrams and Co risks.

Second that, JadedMax.

In fact, if there is an ARG that only really starts at movie-release-time, then it shouldn't depend on whatever might be gleaned pre-movie-release. That wouldn't work too well (I mean, what if we don't ask the right questions to the myspace people before they're all killed by Cthulzilla..tron?).

Hurm...

Just for the love of all things holy, do not let any of them know what happens on 1/18/087 otherwise we might not have a movie. Hehehehe

It's a surfing vid. Looks pretty awesome, too. That wave is pretty*ahem* "Monstrous". You don't really see the dude make it out.

Jamie changed her song, too.

Just so you know - Beth put that surfing vid. up b/c I sent her the link to it in a Myspace message. We'd been 'playing' a lateral riddle, and I sent that link along just to see what kind of reaction it would get. And, lo and behold - she put it up on her Myspace page. Huzzah! Smile

Anyway, the point: there's nothing significant about it. May as well be a blog comment/post by any one of us. It is a cool video, though, isn't it?

I was actually talking about the youtube video that starts off with the word RAGE flashing across the screen. It appears to be a Kylie Minouge song. But if this is what you are talking about my bad. Sorry for the waste of time.

That music video has been there the whole time. I like the way each scenario replicates itself.

My bad then. I live in the sticks, and use a 10 year old computer with dial up. I've never really spent much time on Beths page, or any page with alot of flash, for the simple fact that my system really can't take the stress. Sorry for the waste of time.

Yea, that video's actually what Beth and I talked about in my only interaction with her on MS. I asked her if she put it up because she liked the song or the video, and her response was "I saw it on this DVD of Michael Gondry videos at my friend Rob's place.", which is cool because I didn't even realize it was one of his.

Hud wants to make a story...

Calling all comic book artists!

Have you created a comic book character? Post them here! Maybe we can make some sort of story with them all.
