ameya's entire page was in japanese before, yet she has the concept of "flaming" down and just randomly adds Hawk at her brother's will...i don't buy, as it were

Maybe we should try to establish some rules for character interaction, so that we know how to get them to respond, and from there can figure out how to get them to give us important info. I have a lot of questions about how this works. Any ideas/comments?? Here's what I've been wondering...

1. Is there a pattern to what questions the characters will respond to? It seems like they only answer to questions that specifically reference something in their myspace profile from everything I've read so far.

2. How often do the characters respond to an email? They must have at least hundreds if not thousands of emails in their inbox. Is everyone who recieved a response posting it? If so, then that means that receiving a response is pretty rare, considering I've read about maybe 10-15 instances on these boards from all 7 characters.

3. When do they respond? I've seen characters online, one at a time, at approx. 5:45 PM and 1:50 PM today (ok, I have no life). I'd guess normal business hours, in Pacific time zone, would be the time to expect action.

4. Has anyone recieved a second reply, after already receiving a first one (i.e. do the characters have "coversations or is it just separate instances of Q&A?)? What happens when a character invites you to continue the conversation - from earlier in this thread?

I ask because earlier today, I emailed Beth and she responded within about 45 minutes, which completely shocked me. I expected it to take, much, much longer. Any input/thoughts on these issues would be much appreciated.

I'd imagine their general rule is to respond only to questions that a real myspace person might respond to (and, also, according to each character's personality).

They probably won't get involved in many conversations, though - if there are just some interns pouring through all these messages and writing responses, then they probably have some pretty strict guidelines to follow about what they can and cannot talk about - so, maybe some short conversations, but nothing too involved.

I don't think we'll actually get anything from them, other than the fun of interacting with fictional characters before they die. Wheeee!

On the other hand, they might be using the myspace messages as a way to control the progress of the game (assuming there is one). So, the 1-18-08 site could serve as a means to limit how fast we can progress (b/c they'll wait to release photos that will open new content, e.g., Jamie's message leading to the myspace pages); and, the myspace pages can be used to speed things up if necessary - by feeding us clues in message replies and new blog posts, pics, etc.

That's my 2 cents.

So, what's changed - as of today - on all the myspace pages?

1. Jamie, Beth, Rob, Hawk, and Lil' have put up some new messages from recently added friends. None of these look to be IG.

Since they decide which messages to put up, two are mildly interesting: the ref. to "Sideways Stories from Wayside School" on Rob's page, and Ameya's message (might as well mention it...) about the Chip-Clip guy on Hawk's.

2. LenaDia's myspace page hasn't changed at all, as far as I can tell. No messages, no nuthin'.

3. Hud's page - he's got the new blog entry that references: Cyclops from the X-Men; the way "Summers" (prob. Scott Summers, a.k.a. Cyclops, but possibly Jean Grey-Summers) is written in "Astonishing" (the name of a series of X-men books); and, Leonardo from TMNT. Hud also has some new messages from new friends - none of which look IG.

EDIT: oh yeah, and Hud's song got 'removed by artist.'

Did I miss anything?

P.S. Hud's "flipping house" ref. did not lead to the discovery that the photos can be flipped - it was the other way around; the writing on the backs of the photos led to Jamie's myspace, and then to Hud's and everyone else's.
