I posed a lat. riddle to Beth a while back and she's been playing along by asking questions - I've only been sending simple "Yes" or "No" replies. In my last reply, though, I also sent her a link to the youtube video, and I asked her if she thought it was a real video, or "cleverly doctored footage."

This morning, she sent me another question for the lat. riddle, and she also wrote:

"That vid is incredible! I'm pretty gullible, but I'd have to say it is real. That may be the biggest wave I've ever seen someone conquer."

I didn't want to say anything about my messaging with Beth b/c it was just a lat. riddle (so nothing to tell) and also b/c I didn't want to jinx anything (they surely check these posts). I felt I had to say something now, though, to keep everyone from wasting time and energy trying to decipher this new addition to her myspace page.

Btw, do you think it's the stunningly beautiful Odette Yustman answering my messages?? ...Nah, neither did I. It's a nice thought, though.

Oh, and one last thing - how surreal is this getting? She/They are offering her/their opinion about whether a video is real or not... Screwy

hey guys. i did a search on blog dates to see if anyone talked about this and couldn't find anything.

has anyone noticed the blog dates on the 'slusho 7's' some of them date back to 2006. i know you can change the date posted when you post a blog but it seems weird.

Simply put- has JJA referred to the movie as Cloverfield? If he has, please point me to it, I'd like to see. The first blog entry is "This Cloverfield 1/18/08 thing" and in the most recent blog, he mispelled Lily(Lilly) and Hud's(Hudson Pratt) names. Careless, for a guy who's putting so much work into this.


No, they're spelled right. Lily is spelled with one "l". She's little girl that has a "Lily Pond" named after her by her grandmother. And, it's "Platt". Named after a street in West Hills, CA.

 		I can't read Lil's page - it gives me a headache....I seriously wish they would fix that. The few times I've gone there I've had to wear sunglases and then "select all" on the page to change contrast.

Somebody she's getting chummy with, please send the girl a nice calm, but oh so Lil ms template so she can pimp her space and not give people an anuerism. Thanks!

It is his space from what I can tell, but, it's the un-JJ. All the little components of things "heard" about him that aren't him.

 		was jut looking at the myspace pages and though, what if the 7 characters are linked to the 7 flavors on the slusho site. ( and as 7 i am including the secret ingredient)
no figured Jamie would link nicely with chocolate rage as her page is well a bubbly chocolate color, rob goes with nashi - green, beth with mikan - orange, lil with strawberry - red
but then the other three are a little harder to link, thats even if they are supposed to be.
lenas page is black so she could possibly go to blueberry.
jj's page is white so that would seem to link with the secret ingredient (also he is the one with the slusho shirt)
which leaves hud to go with banna. no i havent seen it but do they state their hights on their pages? and then we could set the slusho bots to their size.

this is probably way out there but i'm a little bored and that popped in my head and if i didn't get it out it would bug me.

 		i know this has been mentioned, i'm just confused that some of these profiles were created in middle of july yet some of the blogs are dated as being posted in june. this is most likely due to paramount having myspace (owned by fox) alter this kind of date for believability. shame they couldn't change the registration dates for the accounts, kind of creates confusion and false leads..

Sadly, I've lost contact with Lil since my last post - but due to her emphasis on the book House of Leaves, I picked up a copy yesterday. Even just 1 chapter in, I noticed some very interesting parallels to JJ's unfolding saga, which I'll post here just because I suppose it's related to the MySpace character interactions. If others start reading and/or find it a good topic, maybe we can shoot off another thread about the book. I just didn't want to start a new thread if it was just going to be me talking to myself. Smile

I won't spoiler tag, but if you want to read the book yourself, maybe skip the rest of this post...

Anyway, the first chapter explains of two short videos released within less than a year of one another by a director of some acclaim. The videos are shot on a hand-held by the director himself, who narrates - I won't go into detail about the content, it's sort of irrelevant, I imagine. The author goes on to say about the videos that "While [they] have been respectively called a 'teaser' and a 'trailer', they are also, in their own right, peculiar cinematic moments.... However, the most unnerving aspect about both pieces is their ability to convince us that everything really happened, some of which can be attributed to the verifiable elements..., but most of which must be chalked up to the starkness of the production -- the absence of make-up, expensive sound tracks, or crane shots." Other points of note: the director/narrator is never seen; the "structure is...discontinuous, jarring,...even hurried," with one short film beginning mid-sentence.

Also, a nod to "us"?: "Dissemination of [the video] seemed driven by curiosity alone. No one ever officially distributed it....copies were passed around by hand, a series of progressively degenerating dubs of a home video revealing...notably very few details about...the author of the piece." And also regarding the scarcity of information: "Then for two years nothing. Few clues about who any of these people were, though eventually a number of photographers in the news community did recognize the author....Unfortunately, this discovery generated only a few months of heated speculation, before...interest died out."

So...yeah. That last little bit worried me until I realized that the remainder of the book deals with what I infer is a full-length follow-up to these two short films. Maybe it's relevant, maybe I'm just caught up in the investigative, fanatical feel of the book - who knows? If you guys think this deserves its own thread, let me know and I'll copy this post to a new spot in the forum - at any rate, it's food for thought.

ETA: Oh, and I messaged Lil to let her know I'm enjoying the book - and that I'll write back as soon as I can discuss it intelligently. You know...in case that matters.

Are you kidding me?

That's it. I'm getting HOL tomorrow - that's the hook I needed. If nothing else, whoever wrote it will get a little bump in royalties thanks to Lil and JJ! (and how obvious is Jason "JJ" Hawkins anyway?). SO I will get it and read up and then I'm sure I'll hit you up for feedback and chat. So get ready on the thread - and for the record, I think you should go ahead and make a thread for it as *related* since we get it IG...and post your own observations there. Your post above was enough motivation for me to go get the book. A thread discussion on it would likely motivate others to do as Lil suggested and read it. I can't say now having no knowldge of its content but I'm aware of the puzzle factor....it could be that something in that is the key we're looking for on how to correctly interpret what they're feeding us, what to do with it, and hopefully how to figure out the clues from the herrings from the coincidences to the flukes.

So....House Of Leaves should get rolling. Don't be scared. I'll be joining you shortly. (But you might have to interpret Li's page for me, I can't read it...)
