Rob Hawkin's work- parent company of Slusho??
myspace.com

In Rob's blog he talks about programming diagrams. Somebody named dave asks him about if he needs help. Rob actually responds to dave saying that its for his new marketing program for his company. Here is my question has anybody tried to ask Rob what company he works for?

If Slusho is really part of an ARG, Slusho maybe a "brand" of a larger company. like Mt. Dew is to Pepsi Co, Sprite is to Coca Cola company. Similar to Lost's Oceanaire and Hanso website, JJ Abrams could have another ARG site as "larger company site.." I've trying to research japanese beverage manufacturers, but like slusho.jp the description of the actual site won't come up in Internet explorers.

Hey Dave --

It's for this new marketing software my company asked me to test. It's not the full release yet.

I know you guys have been talking about X-men with Hud, have you tried Y: The Last Man? Brian K. Vaughn (writer for Y) used to write LOST— maybe it was just buddies throwing throwing props to each other. Y: The Last Man has some apocalyptic themes (the premise for the story being that all the males on Earth have died except Yorick Brown and his monkey), I don't know??

Isn't Rob holding the video camera in the first 1-18-08 picture?

I've mentioned this twice, but nobody here has responded...

Someone should recommend that camera to him. I don't have a MySpace account or else I'd do it myself.

I saw that somebody here had actually pinpointed the exact model.

Has anyone thought that maybe the myspace accounts are leading up to the days of 1-18-08? I looked to see if someone had posted this. Just popped into my head when someone poseted something about Rob's blog needing a new video camera. Maybe in the days to come he gets one and that explains the camera view in the movie. Although come to think of it, it isn't rob behind the camera, since its his party. I dont know. Help me out.

(Sorry, didn't know wasn't suppose to post in that thread. So, here we go here.)

I have a feeling there only suppose to talk to you or give you so much before they totally stop acknowledging you at all. Like when you started to ask her about the drink. She might have caught on to it and that was her que to stop talking....Hmm...That is just what I think.

And even if this is not the cause, we aren't the only ones sending them messages. So, yea.

you might be right, tiny420. It might also be that they can only reveal certain bits of information - between now and when they meet... Cthulhuzilla, in Jan. In the meantime, they'd have some leeway to play around a bit and just 'stay in character', i.e., whomever is answering these has probably been instructed to act as if they really are the characters (whether it's the actors themselves or, more likely, assistants/interns, etc.). If so, we should expect some arbitrary or moody behavior, in terms of who gets responses and when. Also, though, there are probably 'taboo' subjects.

Anyway, about some of the recent archived myspace interactions...

tmerch - interesting exchange w/Lily - I wonder whose wedding she was talking about recently going to..?

And, jojo - incredible exchange w/Rob about LOST... that came really close to the edge. It's surprising that Rob asked you about the Lost Experience. And, he may not have responded only b/c you said "Would you be interested in playing one??" If his answer was "no" then it would be awkward for him to respond - so, he just ignored it. Either way, that's a very interesting conversation you had. If nothing else, we know that LOST and ARG's in general aren't 'taboo' subjects.

 only one on marlena's comments

Just wanna let it be known, that as of now, I'm the only who got onto Marlena's comment list. Don't know if theres a reason, considering my comment was pretty basic. Has no one else been trying? (she only has 78 friends) Holler

I lost the thread link DAMMIT!

In one of the archived conversations, one of the characters talks about a Vermont Ski Lodge, could it be - Suicide Six? - Vermont - Pretty nice, have been there a couple of times. Not sure it is open during the summer though.

Anyone else notice that Marlena Diamond's myspace page was created in 2006, while some of the other pages were created in 2007 around the same time the 1-18-08.com site was registered? Sorry if this has allready been brought up. I'm new here and have alot of reading to catch up on.

That sign-up date is fictional. If you "view all blogs" on her account, it tells you that her actual sign-up date was 06/13/07. However, I think that's the difference between IG and OOG details. IG, I guess it appears she started blogging before everyone else. OOG, she signed up the same time as everyone else but Jamie (who signed up much later, since she was the key that linked us to them).

Have you had any conversation with her LenaDia yet? If you have, please post in the archive! I haven't heard anything from either her or Jamie yet.

And, that's it so far. Haven't heard back yet. God, reading this again is kind of embarrassing - I sounded sound so freakin' desperate in that last one! Embarrassed Egad!

Great conversation, man! But, yeah- I know what you mean about sounding embarrassingly desperate. My last couple messages were pretty sad, too. I sure am glad I'm not trying to date these characters. Jeeze.

That's impossible unless myspace is working with Paramount Pictures, which isn't that unlikely. Wink

Nope, I have tried to add all of the cast as my friends but none have accepted yet. I think the fact that I tried to add all 7 at once sends a red flag to the page owners that I might know more then I should...which I do...

I didn't mean that the actual sign-up date is fictional, just the blogging dates, which can somehow be contrived.

The actual sign-up dates as named by MySpace on the "view all blogs" page are the same for everyone but Jamie, and Jamie's is later. This has already been discussed quite a bit in this thread, I believe.
