 Lily

if there is a 'word game' going on with the Slusho! site I wouldn't be surprised. On Lil's (Lily Ford) myspace page she has listed in the 'Books' section:
Quote:
House of Leaves - READ IT, it's incredible!!!

Someone brought it up earlier and I've been intrigued ever since by her mention of this book. This book is chock full of secret codes in it's text and broke the reality/fiction barrier by citing actual texts (this book is entirely fictional). The text is color coded in some parts, printed to represent morse code at other points, and the first letters of every citation (or maybe it was edits..I forget) spelled out the author's first name. It's definetly the kind of book that was made for people with an interest in ARGs. Maybe this kind of coding is going on in the History page?
(warning lots of spec ahead)
I am also interested in her commanding us to read it using the same tactic that Slusho! uses on the site. !!!

I know JJ has used books in the LOST experience...maybe he is doing that once again?

I think she is more significant than some of the other myspace's up at the moment-I mean even her name 'Lil'...oh, like littlest whale maybe?

Her favorite movies...some Japanese movies:
Quote:
Kurosawa, Imamura, Ozu, Miike, Fellini, Argento, Antonioni, Bunuel, Almodovar, Truffaut, Clouzot, Godard, Bergman, von Trier, Dirty Dancing

Maybe the colors are significant to the 'Flavor Game'?

The "secret ingredient" on the site looks a LOT like a Lily flower. And I mean, Slusho! is people...(ha)

And lastly-her eskimo photo-which is OBVIOUSLY photoshopped...it just doesn't look real.

So maybe I'm bored and looking into this too much but I'm wondering what you guys think?

There is also a slight focus on "shirts" as well - in one pic with JJ, isn't it Lil (forgot which but no matter) that points out she needs to get him more shirts? So she's in the habit of getting him shirts, we could infer that's where he got the Slusho shirt since he drinks slusho but has no job, so he doesn't work for them as previously speculated.

I'll go check up on this one for more references but it's also jumping up that some mention specifically where they work, while others just reference what they do - not where....which could be one of those is linked up with slusho the company. Thinkin out loud...back to myspace

the "seahorse" donkey

ok I know this seem far-fetched. I was doing some searching on the donkey and friends. And I found this: http://www.seahorsemicrofibre.com.au/howtobuy.htm . Noticed the BLUE GLOVE. The hammer octopus is located in Australia and so is this company.

Maybe the lack of solid clues is making me insane?

I checked the Wiki on "House of Leaves" and the description of the first page, in color versions of the book, struck me. "In the color editions, the first page of the book is a photograph of numerous items scattered on a flat surface. These items include pills, rulers, a broken compass, photographs..." Mainly the photographs and it's similarities to www.1-18-08.com.

im speculating but since jj is the stereotypicall slacker moocher with no job, i think his brother rob maybe working for the NY contact for slusho gets free junk from slusho (the shirt) and gave it to his brother.

morse code

okay so i searched and did not find any post about this before but i put the sequence of the slusho song into morse code and came up with {...}{._}{....}translated it was S,A,H no idea Bang Head what it means but also noted that photographers on runway are three then two and then four they flash to quick for me to see any type of morse code thingy so anyways please tell me if it is completely irrelevant or maybe something

edit:also could be [...][..][....] FOR S,I,H

I tried that a couple of weeks ago and got several different combos, too. Nothing that stood out to me. I did discover that there is a Japanese version of Morse Code called Wabun Morse (Japanese having 48 "letters" so needing more complex coding). Decent page here: http://a1club.net/CW_J_e.htm and also at Wikipedia on this topic. I didn't get anything out of it that meant anything, but I may not have been interpreting the dots/dashes correctly. Hope this is helpful!

Anyone find it odd that the Slusho Store, even though it asks for name, phone, email and credit card number, doesn't have a privacy policy?

Also, if anyone's bought a shirt through them, what does the credit card statement say?

At least they have a secure certificate... addressed to "Post No Bills c/o store.slusho.jp". Curious, though, is the address in the certificate:

801 Gervais St
Columbia, SC 29201

...which is a slew of different companies: a book store, a day spa, and a "Post No Bills, Inc." Go figure.

no way

I know right where gervais is! I live in SC and go through there all the time. Not sure exactly what is at that addy..

weird though! Sounds like one of the strip malls.

Edited: They have a website, seems like a legit company that orchestrates custom merchandise and branding for entertainment, movies, etc..

Looks like JJ is spreading the love around to lots of companies.

anyone wanna call the contact # and complain about yr vintage slusho shirt? Laughing

More on House of Leaves:

the similarities between this supposed ARG (Cloverfield/Slusho...what the eff ever) are RIDICULOUS.

i've read the book and i started re-reading it today and all I can think of now when I read it is this game.

The wiki entry doesn't do justice to the book. The book is one of the first of it's kind breaking the fiction/reality barrier. A brief rundown: Old man dies, strung out tattoo artist is given a tour of the dead guy's apt. by his friend who lives in a building, tat guy takes a chest FILLED with notes and basically a book written by the old man based on a film based on something that may or may not exist.

Sorry-I'm not doing this justice either. But it's just a really intricate, creepy book that gets you so involved you don't know WHOSE world you're in. so...READ IT.

I can totally understand why/if JJ would be/is OBSESSED with this awesome novel.

More on House of Leaves......

The story of Slusho deals heavily with whales. According to Wiki, there is an appendix at the end of the book called the Whalestoe Letters. According to Wiki, in this section there are several secret codes that can be decoded by combining the first letter of consecutive words.

I've been trying that on some of the myspace pages and on the slusho site with no luck as of yet.
