Re: Slusho cups again

Had some ideas I haven't seen mentioned about the Slusho cups, both that are based on the "top view" that someone posted a while back but I couldn't find (i.e. looking down on the slusho cups so that they're a series of black and white dots, representing full and empty cups):

1. Could it be in braille? Braille is based on SIX possible "holes", see this pic for example:
http://www.quido.cz/objevy/Braille.gif
Problem is that there are 17 cups, so not sure how to divide them up. Anyone more familiar with this?

2. Could it be a NY subway line? There are black stops and white stops and they're not all exactly in a straight line. This looks similar to the map that was the wall in the trailer too...
http://subway.umka.org/maps/new-york.gif
Just throwin' some ideas out there...

...instead of braille...it might be morse code... dots = full, dash = empty?

EVIL ABOUNDS DEMON BORN EAT TWO SANDWICHES

Nothing, conlcusive but was fun. I found a downloadable program "anagram genius V9" and here is what it generated for me:

Rearranging the letters of 'EVIL ABOUNDS DEMON BORN EAT TWO SANDWICHES' gives:

"Warm-blooded, obstinate unwashed connives."
"Unwashed, renowned, combative bloodstains."
"Wondrous, chewable, absent-minded ovations."
"Bawdiest, heaven-born old woman seductions."
"Venomous disbowel not brainwash decadent."
"Comatose unwashed dribbles now innovated."
"Comatose unwashed innovates now dribbled."
"Vibrant, mendacious woodenness deathblow."
"Wondrous, bewitched ovation damnableness."
"Bewitched, damnable wondrousness ovation."
"Undatable whoredom connives to bawdiness."
"Unavoidable wrenches disbosom not wanted."
"Innovators as now disboweled debauchment."
"Brave now disboweled inconstant madhouse."
"Devastate now disboweled unharmonic snob."
"Innuendos drab now vasectomise deathblow."
"Renowned blow out and combative shadiness."
"Wondrous deviants dominate chewable snob."
"Slime-bath connives now wondrous dead beat."
"Wondrous shambled now obstinate deviance."
"Worn-out swindles and combative boneheads."
"Oh Wow! Overcaution absent-minded baldness."
"Doubters disbowel mean cow hand innovates."
"Not disbowel unwashed, observant demoniac."
"Brainwash non-obvious, demented cold sweat."
"Venomous brainwash on indebted cold sweat."
"Deviant blood-bath censures now womanised."
"Wailsome deathbed connives untoward snob."
"Brainwash not disbowel venomous decadent."

These are the longest words/phrases that use some of the letters:
"indestructibleness", "overlicentiousness",
"conversationalist", "environmentalists",
"incombustibleness", "inconsiderateness",
"overambitiousness", "dishonourableness",
"absent-mindedness", "bloodthirstiness",

Should not the "FORBODING TALE FROM LINDS" be included in search?

I'm not sure... there are quotes around the "Evil Abounds Demon-born. Eat two sandwiches" ... but ... maybe...?

Personally I think this one would be a hard one to figure out.

According to the JJ Abrams myspace on anagrams (which I use as a primer) ... there are no examples of speakers of quotes being part of the anagram (ie. the hamlet quote). Where the majority of the anagrams are stated so that the anagram relates to the riddle/clue.

(i.e. -
Eleven plus two = Twelve plus one
Dormitory = Dirty Room
Desperation = A Rope Ends It
The Morse Code = Here Come Dots
Slot Machines = Cash Lost in 'em )

So, I you can narrow your search down to things that relate to the clues already provided (or that's what I did). Whale, monster, Manhattan, destroy, head, giant, gigantic, Slusho, cloverfield... looking for fits.

Hey...this is the internet... the more of us that hammer out posible fits for these clues,... the more likely one of us will be the lucky monkey that figures out shakespeare...

Anyway...I think I am going to try working on Hud's message... it is shorter, on the same day as the other possible anagram and isn't muddied by which parts might or might not be in the anagram...

But that is me.

Good luck

Be careful relying on this, because if you do a search on here, a lot of people have questioned whether that is really his myspace page. It may very well be, but its never really been confirmed.

People have already tried the morse code thing way back in the slusho thread and it didn't seem to reveal anything.

Yeah...JJ Abrams myspace might not be his... at best, some administative assistant of his maintains it...

That said... if I were JJ Abrams, and I went to all the trouble of having in character myspaces for my movie ... I would also have one of my own to tie together disparate pieces. Either way I think the coincidence of the anagram, tied with the date of the anagram blog makes for a convincing (to me at least) possibility.

As for the morse code... yeah, I came up with nothing there too.

You're using a fake MySpace page as a primer? While I do think there may be an anagram or two out there, let's not use a clearly OOG site as a reference point. I'm hoping the aTPTB agree that http://www.myspace.com/abrams163 is a gamejack.

Perhaps we need an anagram thread for these kinds of speculation? I thought this thread was about Slusho.jp features.

See, what I love about this is you state that it is a fake site with such authority. Do you know who made it? I don't. But that doesn't make it a game jack...it makes it an unknown. Before you go handing down knowledge from on high, maybe you should figure out what you know and what you think you know... then clearly say it that way.

I have never said the JJ Abrams site was real, or OOG. Just that it led me to examine the day that the JJ Abrams site listed a blog about anagrams. Seems strange to me that that there was a 'riddle' on one of the character's myspace pages...same day. Isn't that what we are doing? Bringing together possible clues...

You know... I was going to argue the merits here ... but you will believe what you want. However, just because you can't do anagrams, doesn't mean others are wrong.

You are right about the anagram posts (though they did grow organically out of the original topic) there should be a [spec] anagrams post.

For everyone working on the 'evil abounds' sentence, I fear that it might have been slightly out of context when posted in this thread earlier. Not to mention that there is a MISSING WORD.

The proper context was one of those lists where they ask you a hundred questions and you have to fill them in proper. The line was a response to a question.

What was the last text message you received?
This foreboding tale from Linds: "Evil abounds, Demon-Born. Eat two sandwiches."

Besides the fact that there is an extra 'this' there at the start, the grammatical setting of the sentence doesn't make it THAT suspect (at least, to me, not as much as it did before), but... who is linds?

On its own, using the anagram generator at wordsmith.org, 'eat two sandwiches' ALONE makes 62501 unique anagrams, before overloading the server.

Well, I don't know myself, but maybe someone can find out who this 'linds' is, and what the context was that the message was sent to her. That way, we might get a better idea as to what we SHOULD be looking for. I think some keywords are damn necessary. slogging through hundreds of thousands of anagrams would be a right shitter.

I kept running generations before the free trial version crapped out. I did get a few interesting ones but nothing stood out as pertaining to the game at hand.. stupid generator kept suggesting "cow hand" sheesh!

If you leave out "Demon born" you get a couple of good ones.

Rearranging the letters of 'Evil abound eat two sandwiches' gives:

"Two sociable unwashed deviant."
"New unavoidable twisted chaos."
"Whose outdated cannibal views."
"Waves when absolute addiction."
"Now switched unavoidable seat."
"Unwashed deviation acts below."
"Saw devious, ancient deathblow."
"Was devious, ancient deathblow."
"Whole, bawdiest nudes vacation."
"Cannot bawdiest, devious whale."
"Wino causes deviant deathblow."
"Lavish downbeat wino educates."
"Above window staunchest ideal."

These are the longest words/phrases that use some of the letters:
"cohabitational", "indelicateness", "non-established",
"scandalisation", "touch-sensitive", "cool-headedness",
"educationalist", "cat-o-nine-tails", "cohabitations",
"debauchedness", "insubstantial", "New south wales",
"anaesthetised", "consultations", "unestablished",
"actualisation", "conditionable", "eventualities",
"evolutionists", "inaudibleness", "vocalisations",
"vulcanisation", "blood-stained", "cannibalised",
"cannibalises", "cohabitation", "conditionals",
"consultation", "destinations", "discontinued"

On a previous generation i got a few better ones. One that even seemed to fit but my failng mind has gotten the better of me. I will try and run a few more. Meanwhile download the program yourselves and try.

Look, I wasn't trying to be a jerk, but you should have checked the gamejack thread, where I posted a fairly compelling argument disproving the validity of that MySpace page. So yes, I'll say it with authority: you are using a fake MySpace page as a primer. Pardon me for trying to save you some trouble. I never said there were no anagrams to figure out, just the opposite. As for the "same day" post, do you think a fake who's being worshiped like this won't check the character pages and post something poignant once in a while, like "Hmm, that looks like an anagram riddle, I'd better post something I found on the Internet Anagram Server Hall of Fame to look legit!" Even the "Human Understanding" blog post is just some quotes from a completely unrelated writer named "John Locke", probably found while Googling "John Locke".

Can't do anagrams? Yes, it's so hard to copy and paste text into the Internet Anagram Server or Anagram Genius software. Please enlighten me. Apparently JJ can't do anagrams either, since his examples for "Cloverfield" suck. Did you know that "a cloverfield' is a "cold, evil fear", or even "fear cold, evil"? Maybe the monster fears cold!!!!!! At least that sounds like a clue. But alas, we're stuck with "Doc Fever Ill" and "Vice Lord Elf". Rolling Eyes Even "If cold, revel" at least points to the Slusho ingredient that needs to be cold at all times to maintain its "freshness". But sadly, your JJ apparently isn't interested in something meaningful, only articles that have been posted on projectcloverfield.com.

Let's just call this an evil J flop, corrected. On second thought, please argue the merits of that fake page. I don't believe in what I want, I believe in facts. I'm willing to eat crow if proven wrong, are you? So far, I've given you evidence, what do you have?

Catfight!
