take a look at a site from another game
www.whipsmartice.com

Once again I am going to stray a bit off-topic because I think this is something you will enjoy knowing about.

I know people have wondered..."why go to the trouble of making Slusho the site, if it doesn't lead anywhere?" One answer may be that Slusho exists to make the world of the movie seem more real. (Note: I am not a Slusho expert.)

Just FYI and enjoyment, a game called perplexcity had this very fun site called www.whipsmartice.com . It was an answer to a puzzle card but, as far as I can remember, didn't lead us anywhere of major import. It did help set up the reality of the world and it was fun to play with.

Take a look if you like. Just watch out for the music, once it gets in your head it is impossible to get out. Smile

Slusho! flavor mixer
The Roar takes place of the ZOOOM! sound

I recently came upon the slusho! site and was playing around knowing it was related to the movie somehow. I went to the flavor mixer section and decided to try out a few things. I was looking at the different color combinations, hoping to find something. I tried about 20 or so different combos, when eventually I did about half Chocolate Rage and then full Strawberry Tasty. It mixed, as usual, but when it finished the bubble seemed to say something different than "Slusho! ZOOOOOOM!!!!." I wasn't paying much attention and I didn't really notice until after I clicked "Make a new flavor!," but I can remember it saying something like "Slusho! VRYKOOOOOM!!!" and after I clicked the button instead of the normal pulsating "zoom" as the robot flew up, The Roar from the trailer played. I was little freaked out, but very excited. I don't know how many times I mixed, or how long I was on the site, and I tried redoing it, but my guess is it goes by how many times you mix, and I don't really have time to try again now, but I will later.

I don't know if this has been posted, i tried searching these forums for a while, but just thought I'd tell you about the sound clip.

I tried mixing 108 times which took almost an hour and nothing came up.

Did you have the 1-18-08.com page open in another window/tab? Because the roar is played after the page is left open for about 6 minutes. It could be one explanation.

I am sure that was it. I left it open once in another windows tab and it scared the hell out of me.

Could be something, could be nothing

Long time lurker, first time poster....

I will preface this with the fact that I searched the forums, but my search words (Sea and Lily) brought up over 500 results, which meant I didn't go through everything. So if this was discussed, I apologize and please disregard.

I was playing around with the slusho site this evening when the idea of the "Lotus" being the secret ingredient popped back into my head. My forum search on this topic did show a few results. A few people surmised that the lotus was the Hindu Lotus due to its similar features. What didn't line up in my head was, how could a lotus of any type be the secret ingredient when it was purportedly found at the bottom of the ocean?

To me, if the image is in fact supposed to represent the secret ingredient, it is not and can not be a lotus. I did some googling to see if there was any type of creature or seaweed called a "sea lotus" and found nothing. Then it hit me, Lotus and Lilys are commonly mistaken as certain species have similar petal patterns. Once again, I did some googling, this time for "sea lily" and I found something that is also called a Crinoid:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crinoid

The description seems to fit that of the secret ingredient a little better than that of a lotus. I know the image to the right doesn't match up exactly with the cartoon lotus image on the slusho site, but I don't think anyone would be able to pick out the exact species of jellyfish or crab based off the depictions on other parts of the site either.

What I think is this: the secret ingredient is the Sea Lily. The secret ingredient is the key to the monsters origins. Oddly enough Lily Lascano's seems to be the current key to our on-going investigation. There could be a symbolic meaning there. Perhaps the secret to the Slusho site is that JJ is telling us to focus on Lily because she is the key to figuring everything out? Afterall, she was the first myspace page found, she led us to a video and does seem to be the most mysterious as far as not being in the trailer.

Just throwing it out there...discuss.

Except that her name is Jamie, not Lily. But interesting find though!

You're totally right. Perhaps I spent too much time looking at jamieandteddy.com, where she is refered to as "Lil". My bad. There's also Lily Ford, but I haven't seen much come out of her character so far.

You're *still* getting 'em confused. Wink

Jamie Lascano is the girl on jamieandteddy.com. Actress unknown, so far. LILY ("Lil") FORD, played by Jessica Lucas, is the Hillary Clinton activist/Penguin Publishing editor (or whatever)/steady girlfriend of Jason Hawkins.

So yeah....if there's anything to the "lily" theory -- and it's a pretty good theory -- you need to watch Lil Ford's Myspace, *not* Jamie Lascano's.

I know what you are saying, but Jamie DOES refer to herself as LIL' LASCANO on JamieandTeddy.com:

Quote:
Just for you Teddy-bear! I miss ya like CRAZY already!!!

Love, your Lil' Lascano

Although, that would stand for 'little', not 'lily'. Even by extension, I don't think it'll stretch THAT far. We might as well then find every instance of 'lil' in every other particular occasion.

Just my personal thoughts, but it seems more likely to fit the actual Lily than 'lil' lascano.

Well, CloverfieldClues DOES have a point...I didn't notice the "Lil'" Lascano. It's a pretty strange nickname for Jamie, considering that NOTHING in any of the pics on her Myspace show her as anything but an average-height (maybe even a little tall...?) chick. Nothing "little" about her.

So yeah, the "Lil'" might be a deliberate reference to Lil Ford, and/or to lotus lilies...I dunno.

I've been called "Lil' (last name)" because I have an older sister, even though I have above average height and am taller than my sister. I think the most likely meaning of "Lil' Lascano" is that she has an older sibling that we don't know of.
