[SPEC] "It's alive"
got me thinking.....

I was thinking, why would I say something is "alive"

1) it was dead or thought to be dead then miraculously lived again
2) it was an in-animate object that began to move

so, if i see somthing really big that is "alive" and i yell "it's alive", then what im saying is "that THING that should be dead or inanimate is now living"

Maybe it is something statuesqe that is now able to move around?

I was thinking the same thing. What would be unusual if it was "huge" and "alive?"

Maybe he was informing people that the blast wasn't directed against it or kileld it?

Maybe he means it in a "Dude, it's still alive! Get out of here!" sorta way.

Like you stomp on a bug, lift your foot, it runs away, and then you're even more freaked out cuz it survived. Smile

I would say "It's alive" because some impossibly huge creature is coming towards me and I'm panicking.

Alternatively, I would say "It's alive" because it's a cheat that helps the audience know that I'm an extra in a movie about a giant monster.

He was just saying, in the quickest way possible, that a big, alive thing was the source of the destruction - as opposed to an airplane crashing, or a bomb, or a missile of some sort. Instead of doing the following:

"I saw it, it's a big...SOMETHING! It doesn't look manmade, and it doesn't look like some reanimated blue whale carcass that's half-rotted, but beyond that I couldn't describe it in intricate detail, just that it looks like it has claws and the means to create flaming explosions and..."
*gets crushed by the Statue of Liberty's Head. That's what you get for standing around describing the intricate details of a rampaging monster*

They seem to be coming out of the woodwork today.

I would be looking for a bathroom because I will have had to remove the fecal matter from my underwear. I would not be saying things like it's alive. After changing my shorts, I would be looking for a gun and looting all the near by jewelry stores.

The 1979 in your username can't possibly be your birth year. Maybe your mother's birth year?

Also, the little magnifying glass with the letters s.e.a.r.c. and h. next to it is your friend. Learn it. Love it. Use it!

I even spelled it out for you. The site has a search function. You know, like Google? Yahoo? You type things in it and it runs a query and brings back results.

Use the search function! Don't repeat the same stuff ad nauseum. It's in the FAQ. It's in the Guidelines. Heck, it's on EVERY SINGLE PAGE YOU SEE ON THIS SITE.

Up in the corner. I'll cut and paste for you.

"Welcome!

Look, I only say something because you started hurling insults. It's not frackin complicated to just read and follow directions.
