[S7] Chevy Autobots
the flash game promo, possible tie-in

Chevy launched their Transformers promo this week at http://www.chevyautobot.com

It's a flash game with puzzles to solve, where you can build your transformer character and challenge others for ranking.

While strictly a game, it's uncertain as to whether this will actually tie-in to the Sector Seven ARG, except for two things:

1) It could be considered a counter-information capaign setup by Sector Seven
2) META: also involved is none other than Dave Szulborski (recently of MHC fame)

Anyway, I started this thread to help keep discussion about the puzzles and code solving out of the main S7 thread, and keep that one on track.

So post chevyautobot.com related questions, hints, spoilers, updates, what-have-you, here.

that is all

Codes...

ok... out of the first 5 codes, I've gotten 3 of them figured out... 01.B, 02.B, and 03.A

I know you had said 01.A was a simple substitution cipher, but what I'm having trouble with is figuring out what to substitute. Are the numbers paired with a letter, or are they independent? I keep coming back to where it says "use key already provided" and trying to figure out what key he's talking about...

nevermind, I'm stupid. Laughing I should have just used the same idea I had for 01.B on 01.A. that's 4 down, 3 to go.

More about the codes

Congrats on getting your name on the list twice, bruce. I just cracked another code, and when I try to enter it, the site tells me

"You have already broken a code. You cannot break more than one code."

(I'm Farkus Maximus)

So... if anyone wants the solution to 04.A, let me know Smile

tnx. technically those are two accounts. The forgot password feature isn't/wasn't working, so I created a new account, and apparently was the first to put a new code in, again. I emailed them to let them know, but they haven't done anything about it *shrug*.

So don't expect to see another thebruiseotron on that list =P

too many codes entered?

have you noticed that up until today, there were 7 codes entered and only 5 puzzles posted?

I also noticed that the code I discovered today is a new one, so that brings it up to 8 for 7 puzzles.

Where did you get the 8R66E1t264 code? was it from one of the puzzles, or did you happen across it somewhere else?

the first half is the part I just solved Smile I;m wondering if it's even worth it to keep trying these now, other than for some amusement when i'm bored at work.

clue

For 04.A, pay attention to what is uppercase and what is lowercase Smile for every letter in the alphabet, there is one uppercase and one lowercase letter.

I have come to the conclusion that I truly suck at this kind of puzzle... I don't have a friggin' clue what any of the answers are...

let me clarify 04.A

the letter you get when you decrypt 04.A is not case sensitive. The case of the letter IN the puzzle can result in a different letter.

a hint that might give too much away for some people:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
[A,y]=z
