When did the monitors start doing time travel?

Why does Keyes need to live?

Hes got a very creative mind, huh? Razz
Edit: Out of all the ViDocs, the only thing ive heard about armor is "He has been through some horrific battles, and were showing it this time around" -Finish the Fight

Well then that would explain why my thinking is happening...Maybe if all of them pulse at the same time it would kill him because you have to be able to kill him...maybe cortana takes control of the ship and collides it with the sun and kills them both...

Also I picked keyes because he is huge in halo 1 and he has the index maybe he learned information that we didnt know also and with the index you control what people do the index is like the key to the universe imo seeing as how you can use it to activate the ark.

And monitors can teleport from what ive seen and ive read many theroies on how to time travel and you basically just move so fast that you enter a new time period or something along those lines cant quite quote it excatly but its around the lines of you move faster then the speed of light time travel is possible.

Well they did all pulse at the same time when he was sentient before...
But like the servers have said, The opposite of life is the flood, so maybe Gravemind is death, maybe he cant die
Ah, mid afternoon spec
Edit: Well. a human with the index. Humans can only activate the halos.
Also, all those theories might not apply to Halo, its their universe. Plus, you cant move faster than light (Physics told me)

Oooh so he's just a god and now we have to find the brightly colored part on his body because those are his weak spots and then after enough shots there he will get weak and he will die....Or he goes into the sun...or Goku spirit bombs him...or Miranda Keyes Master Cheif Cortana Arbiter 343 all combine into a giant fighting halozord and kill him...One of these methods should work i mean when have they not...If He cant die then halo 3 will be more about finding a weakness for him or maybe he had some sort of sheild and they have to activate all the halos again to kill him...Still all spec but eh its getting more confusing the more I figure out...

No no man you have it all wrong. Goku must sacrifice Gohan to be able to get the super Cortana power up which is located inside the flood juggernaut. Then he has to hit the Gravemind's sheild with a radiactive banjo. Then shoot the brightly colored Jell-o storage stacks. Duh, didnt you read Gravemind: If I did it, this was how it happened?

Some edits to my theory:

Master Cheif goes back in time right before the halo rings get activated to the point where he is talking to the oracle about the index in the control room. Instead of captain keyes. And he takes the index and gives it to the oracle. Cortana is freaking out because she knows what the oracle is going to do with it and so does master cheif now. 343 GS has to go to the Ark and is about to teleport there but Cortana thinks master cheif has gone mad so she leaves his body and filters through oracles programming to steal the index. During this process the index gets destroyed and cortana gets teleported to the future with 343 GS leaving MC stuck in the control room. He goes in search of another monitor that can teleport him to cortana and make a new index. He finds one that monitors installation number 7 his name is 823543 AdjutantReflex. He helps master cheif get to cortana from the past tells her whats been happening and she helps him make a new index. Gravemind finds this out and uses the corrupt cortana to stop her by coming to earth. The two cortanas are fighting to control the ark. Gravemind and the flood are fighting the humans and the covenant who both want this all to end. There is a huge epic battle and the world could go either way you have to find out how it happens...

Gravemind sends arbiter and mastercheif in search for why they shouldnt activate the ark. He does this so he doesnt die but he acts like hes making them protect themselves until he and the flood take over.

When the first halo pulsed it didnt kill gravemind because he wasnt in the area of the effect. 343 guilty spark states that all life died...that was in the three radiai of the galactic center died...So gravemind might not have been there at that time seeing as how hes over 3000 years old...

i hate to, um, derail this...derail, but i thought i'd add my theory.

Two things have stuck out to me as I played through both halo games again this week searching for clues. The first is when 343 GS is talking to MC about the purpose of the halos. He says that they destroy all sentient life capable of sustaining the flood. Now my very loose translation of that breaks down to; The halos don't kill everything, just everything that the flood can assimilate.

The other thing that stood out as I was playing halo2, is that on the High charity, after the flood lands, I never once saw a flood that looked as big as, or had the characteristics of a Brute.

Adding these two together, as well as the fact that both The Arbiter and the "oracle" tells Tarturus the true purpose of the halos, and tarturus ignores them, and begins to fire them anyway, may mean that the brutes are aware that they can't sustain the Flood, and want to wipe the galaxy of all other races.

these are just my thoughts, i may be entirely wrong, but this is share time.

I was thinking that but couldnt quite get a back up reason for that. Its a great theroy that perhaps the brutes are only following the great journey so that they can be the last lifeforms on earth. That also might be why halo 3 is more centered around the brutes and not the covenant like before. See more theroys like this!!!!

Too lazy to log in at the moment.

I have no theories as to the entire plot (good lord, for a game the size of H3 I would have to be prescient to even try), but I do possess a few ideas as to general plot elements. They are as follows.

***

Master Chief gets captured by the Covenant on board the Forerunner vessel. He loses his armor but following a subsequent rescue by UNSC forces, is re-equipped with the latest MJOLNIR gear.

Truth dies relatively early on but the war continues to be prosecuted by the Brute leadership and/or additional Covenant Prophets.

Admiral Hood is dead, and the Orbital Defense Platforms have all been destroyed.

The Elites (prior to the start of Halo 3) have suffered horrific casualties and do not represent a significant fighting force. While their infantry will accompany UNSC troops and their vehicles may be utilized by the UNSC, Elite space-power will be null.

The Forerunner are well and truly dead.

Gravemind is an intelligence of solely Flood origin, not predating the firing of the Halo installations. His knowledge of matters past could be due to some sort of Flood genetic memory. He is not allied in any way shape or form with the UNSC, and a Flood outbreak will occur and remain uncontained on Earth.

The Halo installations are activated, and discharge. Master Chief does not succeed in preventing this.

The Arbiter dies. 50% chance that he is executed by Brute forces upon being captured.

Ultimately the Covenant forces are repulsed from Earth. 50% probability that this is caused by total extinction of all lifeforms due to Halo Installations firing, 50% probability that this is caused by conventional weapons from UNSC/Elite alliance. 0% probability that the Covenant leave peacefully.

Halo 3 does not end with galactic peace. If there is one thing I am absolutely certain of, it is this.

I think halo 3 ends with the world starting ending...then 7 seconds later everything goes back to the way it was when hao 1 first started...Him waking up from the pod. Id say that wouldnt be with galactic peace but w/e

Figured out from bungie that Gravemind is actually trying to achieve his ultimate purpose - to consume and absorb every thinking creature in the galaxy. So with them telling us that it is almost known that gravemind was tricking MC and Arbiter and now hes going to be a huge part of the halo 3 plot line as a main if not the main villain.
