Certainly not nM! I'd be too small for the keyboard. I'm going to be coy about units

So, can I invite non-Unfictionites to this league as well?

I guess I'm more of a lurker than anything on Unforums, with my wife (Pixiestix) being the more apparent representative of the family. But, I do love some fantasy football. I joined last night, and provided there aren't any objections, I'd love to play.
Let me know if this is ok

OK, I don't understand football (soccer) or football (wearing pillows and a hat) and have a team in both (Won't Win and Cups of Tea respectively). In the version where one wears a hat one can't choose players yet - is that right?

Since I already invited a non-UF person....I don't see why not.
Also, I am having MAJOR compy issues at the moment and I can not get on the internet, I will try my damnest to get on by Sunday....but I can not say for sure....
Is anyone going to set up a channel like last year and post the info here? Should I move the draft date to next weekend to get more people in?
As of right now (Wednesday, 8/15 @ 12:30 (Pacific) we need 1 more person, in order to draft. Jamesi if you want to invite more people, we will need at least 1 additional person.
I will be monitoring until Thursday, 8/16 @ 6:00 pm (Pacific) -- this is the last possible time that I know I will have access to the internet -- to do one of the following:
1) Change the draft date, so that more people can join
2) leave the draft as is, if we have an even numbered teams
I welcome other suggestions.

Oh, what the heck. Mikey, I have very limited footy knowledge, and no idea whatsoever about the hat-wearing version, but I'm now in for both.
Is there a brief idiot-proof "Brits guide to foreign football" anywhere? I don't understand all this talk of drafts and stuff

D'oh! Stupid Yahoo! and their limitations! I'm really sorry about this, guys, but I have to drop out of this league. I was unaware that Yahoo! had a limit for how many leagues you can join in one year. (Four)
I had previously made commitments to 4 other leagues, they just haven't all been created yet. I hope this helps and not hurts, since this will drop you guys back down to an even number of teams.
Sorry again, and good luck to all this season.

The Beeb comes through. I also found this one while Googling ("british guide to american football," in case you'd like to recreate the excitement) and for some reason found it terribly amusing.

When the latter link believed that "top of the marnin'" was an English rather than Irish (different countries) stereotypical greeting I mounted my high horse in order to compose this

Thanks for those links - I spent some of my afternoon reading the Wikipedia stuff I found. That's a few hours I'll never get back............ I do hope Auntie makes a bit more sense. And who knew that Bristol had Aztecs playing American football?

Potential Workaround! My lovely wife, Pixiestix, offered for me to use her Yahoo account to re-join your league. I'm all for that.
I'll join back up, and hopefully we find a twelfth! (If you haven't already found a twelfth, of course...)
...i like spelling out the word "twelfth" too much...

One more option that I forgot to write...
I will be monitoring until Thursday, 8/16 @ 6:00 pm (Pacific) -- this is the last possible time that I know I will have access to the internet -- to do one of the following:
1) Change the draft date, so that more people can join
2) leave the draft as is, if we have an even numbered teams
added option
3) Create a dummy team that everyone will have an automatic win again/bye week as the 12th team and move on with the draft.....as I said before, I hope that I can get my compy to work tomorrow, but if not...I will not be around for the draft.
Good Luck everyone and have fun!

Live online draft, or draft in here and post later?
