You know, maybe it's just my crazy thinking, but maybe there's more to this question than we think. Maybe, if Eric sees/hears this question, he'll become moved to the point of confessing stuff.

But, in all honestly, I don't think that will help.

Yeah I agree it's a crap question both in terms of furthering the story and getting info to get Eric back.
