Handheld method...

Looks like their using hand held HD cameras and a professional camera guy to actually do the filming.

The actor that is supposed to be holding the camera walks closely behind them so you can get the audio of him talking to who's getting filmed.

Looks like that character will be the one doing most of the filming for that portion fo the movie. Maybe they're getting video for the last time he used the camera.

It looks like the upper part of the building is what's depicted as crushing the cars. Maybe the monster stomps across the tops of building rather than taking the narrow streets.

*sigh* neat report, but the photos aren't anything special... no time for the video.

He mentions the scientists/doctors being a big focus. They either have a piece of the monster, the entire mofo, or a person? It's gotta be former.

OR - the scientists are actually manufactering the (slusho??) monster from a piece recovered. [spec/]

Just to clarify part of the report found on that link, the monster was confirmed to be organic (meaning no zombies or mechanical monsters).

I'll try to find the link if possible, I found it on the EthanHaas forums (meaning they posted a link to the interview, and the interview was real)

I was on the Orchard/Stanton set pretty much the entire time last night, very interesting to see first hand. From what I'd witnessed, they were shooting a mock, live news piece - reporter, interviews, frightened, dirty, bloody citizens, etc. I couldn't really hear all of what was exchanged between the reporter and whom he was interviewing, but the action was odd..at one point it seemed as if he'd asked the entire group a question, then grandually more and more extras would raise their hands..as if they were volunteering for something...very dramatic.

Raising their hands volunteering for something or maybe answering the question? Could the question have been; "Who here has drank more than 6 Slusho's?" Shocked

I drank 7. Is that bad? Crying or Very sad

I must really be screwed - I had eight!

No wai! lol I think they'll make it more obvious later if we dont see it when we're supposed to. I think a lot is digging a hole looking for pirate treasure, when you're not only in the wrong yard, but in the wrong neighbor hood.

Yeah I think you're right, cause they have already started changing things by what we've said or done that was WAYYY off track . . . (ie. Stegged slusho jpg)

So, does anyone know if they're still filming at either of the locations mentioned in this thread? ..Or anywhere else in NYC?

Very Happy

I was really hesitant to put up the videos because I was only doing commentary for a couple of friends who told me to take videos.

Scenery: Ash everywhere and made getting a pack of matches from the deli around the corner and fake rumble everywhere as well. Its just a regular chaos scene. People are covered in ash, women children etc. Food from resturant was covered as well. (Here's an issue with that. Its January/December in the movie. Why is the resturaunt having there outside area open? Theres the first problem i kind of for see, unless its part of an ongoing ordeal.)

The trailer/teaser does show it to be unusually warm in January, its possible that it was just warm enough to have the outdoor eating places open.
