I'm pretty sure it's fake. How do I know? In an interview Abrams confirmed that the entire movie would be shot in handheld video camera style, as was with the trailer.

I'll be honest, the footage iesb gives doesn't look like that style at all.

what is your source for JJ saying it will be shot with consumer cams? i really doubt they would do that, i heard that but i even read they are using full blown panavision cameras. its easy to make footage look amateur, but still done by professionals.

also the chopper that is shown in that clip is not in use today. its all blackhawks and similar choppers. just thought i'd add that in

also i already contacted the website it is copyrighted and it is their footage, i also have a feeling that ANYTHING filmed on a paramount set is their property right away.

i'm sure it wont be all that amazing what they put out tomorrow.

Example: Grindhouse was shot in HD. Tarantino and Rodriguez went back later, added scratches and such to the films to make them look more to their intended grindhouse film nature. You can film something with the best camera made, and make it look lower budget.

it happens
it happens

I just want to let you guys know that people just run into to movies all the time while they are being filmed, especially here because it is next to impossible to block people from looking. I can't tell you how many times

I have run into filming in and around without realizing in the city. I'm not sure how they do it in other cities but it is VERY difficult to cut off blocks, especially if you live in a apartment. In fact tomorrow I'm going to snoop around the nyc and Staten Island because i have driven through Staten Island and there is a crap load of those movie trailers everywhere in a very inconspicuous part of the Staten Island. The area they seem to be filming around would make sense because the area has Aircraft carrier docked and coast guard base.

of course it could be another film

Exactly.
This is only production.

If this was actual footage straight from the dailies, we'd be seeing timecode on the bottom, hear the pops, etc.

Anyone know how much of the movie is going to be greenscreened?

well its cheaper to blue or green screen it then it is to go out on location.

the whole trailer was shot in a back lot with blue screen i bet a good chunk of it is screened.

remember those pictures from the set? and only one of them was any good
