[INFO/SPEC] Email to Retailers I was reading this article I found that was supposedly sent out to retailers about Halo 3's many marketing plans.
http://www.xboxfamily.com/news%20stories/Halo_3/H3_360.htm
If you look on the section where it mentions the Iris campaign, it mentions people to retail stores, which obviously refers to the kiosks to open server two. It also mentions hints. The kiosk was much more than a hint to solve server two, and the ad also talks about sending people back to retailers.
My question is: has anyone been back to the kiosks lately and seen if they contain any new or pertinent info to the current state of the game?

I'm more intrigued about the "survival kits" mentioned under Burger King. I wonder if these have anything to do with Iris?

I'm fairly certain the Kiosks aren't connected to the internet, and the commercial under the hidden menu item was there from the start. I think most of those kiosks were put in (or updated) back in March when GHII was releasing.

Nope. I was there just yesterday, and if there's anything new, it's not hidden in the Halo section.
On a side note...

Great cross-group coordination to get retail involved with this community driven effort.
I found this pretty funny, since most of the stores didn't even know why they were on the Find Kiosk map.

The BK Survival Kits, however, are scheduled for Sept/Oct release, which makes me think they'll be post-Halo3 release, and thus highly unlikely to be related at all to Iris.

I'm sure the survival kit will be some stupid combo meal with tons of food. Almost positive.

The King says:
Quote:
Get your survival kit now! Contains a Whopper, medium to large fries and drink. Comes with Halo 3 Ace Bandages and a collectable cardboard case.
Had to ruin my giddy speculation huh?

Well all the mountain dew stuff is already out there, 7-11 has been using it in advertising with a contest to win some prizes.

Looks like 7-11 is going to be the place to go.I love to have an excuse to go there.I also agree that the Survival Kit probably won't be very related if it's before the game release.

the kiosks aren't connected to the internet, but each individual store has it's own microsoft representatives that come in monthly (or as often as needed) and put in a new kiosk update disk. The reason most stores didn't know about it is because most of those microsoft reps (especially the one in jacksonville, florida) are complete idiots.
but there's nothing hidden in there now that could give something away down the road...they'll just update the kiosks the day before whatever it is is supposed to hit.

I can't deny that. The majority of the stores down here in So Cal seem to have been given kiosk disks that the Xbox 360's refuse to read
And nobody seems to care.

Did you try running it through a PC?

Well, most stores keep their 360s behind glass, you see, so the general public can't take the disk and run
