Could this be the location?

I think the new photo could be the Martyr's Shrine in Taipei. I have posted a link with other photos, what do you think? Don't know if we need this info , but there it is.

Perhaps another way to look at it...

Assuming the grid is a grille cypher http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grille_%28cryptography%29, then in order to crack the code we need to locate the grille. Perhaps rather than converting the grid to i-ching characters, maybe we need to convert the i-ching characters into a grille?

Puzzle 2 Solved (?)

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
When reading the i ching wiki on wikipedia, the hexagrams can also refer to directional codes . Each "entry" on the temple post is one letter. By starting on the blank space on the parchment, the letters spell out: Qiantomb - Qian Tomb, which is located 50 miles northwest of Xian City in China. I've sent Christopher Forrest an email with that information

Visit: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I_Ching to see the hexagram information.

Great work Cronkie, I'm guessing that will be the place to find Lien

Brilliant. Though I think you meant to reference the trigram information. Good work, Cronkie99!!!

reply from Christopher Forrest

Christopher responded to my email:

Quote:
Excellent work. I know very little about Qian Tomb, but that's clearly the message that Lien Meihui intended to communicate. I'm going to begin making travel arrangements to Xian City in China. From there, I'll travel northwest to Qian Tomb. I'll be in touch as soon as I can.

Sincerely,

Most excellent solve, cronkie.

BTW. Is that a Brussels Griffon in your avatar?

No, he's a Shi Tzu named Cody.

BTW:
Has anyone else noticed the grey blocks that appear in some of the archive pics? Like on the right-hand side and lower right-hand panel on the door of the brownstone pic and the roof of the temple pic.
I'm wondering if they will play into the metapuzzle at the end as possibly something based on compass directions or maybe an overlay.

Maybe they're nothing at all. Just a mail slot, street sign or AV equipment. Hard to tell as the image quality is less than stellar. I'm kind of amazed you guys were able to nail down the trigrams so well.

the tomb

Wu Zetian is buried there (along with Gaozong Lizhi). Wu Zetian was the only woman emperor in Chinese history and was supposedly, "Malicious, cunning, devious, power hungry and ruthless" ...

I hope Lien Meihui is not like her! Shocked

Triad site a little different

The Triadgenomics.com site is a little different now. The side bars now have a black background, hiding the titles/credentials of Christian Madison, Omar Crowe and Grace Nguyen. Dr. Ambergris' quote is also not visible unless selecting all text on the page. Not sure how relevant, but something to note...

latest grid

did anyone try to layer the latest grid with the other 8x8 boxes we got? if its a grille cipher then maybe the wrong number places correspond to the latest grid, making a word or something.
