I've been thinking along the lines of a phone number (after Christopher told us to stop thinking map coordinates!), but haven't come up with anything concrete

Puzzle 3 is solved

Christopher posted the following on his journal- Nice solve Rogi!

Quote:
My online allies have determined that the solution to puzzle 3 is actually a constellation that can be located by its declination and ascension. I've also done some research into my uncle's closest colleagues who are not associated with Triad Genomics. Since Lien Meihui remains elusive, I'm going to try and make contact with some of Dr. Ambergris's other associates during my national book tour. I'm going to post the tour dates and locations on my website. I'll be able to covertly pass along new information to my allies who can meet me at the tour locations. I think we may be getting close to some major new discoveries about the secrets that Dr. Ambergris uncovered.

My , how... Unelegant.

Almost feels like we're creating the game, here.

359 with a few missing zero glyphs made a much cleaner puzzle.

Oh, well. progress is progress.

Way to go Rogi! I know what you mean too. Confused

I started thinking maybe Orion was important since the belt of Orion can be seen as 3 stars (the 3 Lamat) and Orion is strong in Mayan culture.

Now, ... what about that mask?! Laughing

More from Christopher's journal

Christopher wrote the following:

Scorpius

Also note the declination and ascension coordinates on the righthand side of the page.

Nothing that clearly connects it to Mayan mythology or the mask

Maybe that's the point? The prize for solving the final puzzle is to have your name written into the next book... maybe we're creating the game and the plot for the next book as we go along here?

Nice solve, btw!

www.thegenesiscode.com is locked up with a single image file and soundclip... updating site with a new clue, perhaps?

It is possible that the mask is Mayan in design because of the elongated ears (a symbol of the aristocrates) but wood was not a common medium. It isn't unheard of though. I did notice that it isn't stylized like a Mayan mask but more like an African. It may be modern in creation however so its hard to tell. (Nice to know how well that college degree in anthropology came in handy - Dunce ha ha)

Props to emato for suggesting stellar coordinates!
And I'll eat a little crow for Chris on my previous post due to the wikipedia entry having the exact coordinates listed for Scorpius.

But the, "I think we may be on the wrong track with that idea." message was somewhat cornfuzing.

Can't make those, but I'm planning to go to the NY appearance (once the date is announced).

Re: Book signing itinerary

I'm about a little over 2 hours from Sarasota -- and about 1 hour from Orlando. Was hoping to see that location finalized. Unless he wants to come to Inverness! Laughing

Edit:!! Whoops! We don't have a bookstore in Inverness Shocked How about Ocala or The Villiages? Laughing

I think I could get to the Orlando one though ... if it happened.

If I had a really compelling reason, I could probably make the San Mateo or San Francisco event(s), but It's a couple of hours from me. Sacramento is highly do-able.
