Well then I'm willing to believe that has nothing to do with this subject.

So far my theory holds up, two updates have occurred at the end of a five day glyph cycle. Which puts the next update at around midnightish -12:15am EST
on the morning of the twenty first. Then following that another on the 22nd, as we change to Mol. Although I don't know if Mol will change or just become the new holder for the map link.

Cool Beans Peace

OK, so we indeed do have an update. Now the map appears to show clouds passing in the sky. Like the background has been animated.

Weird...

Once again, I don't really know what I'm looking for.

in addition to the clouds in motion, there appears to be a more stationary build up of "clouds" over our five cloud spots.

The more pronounced build up is over Colorado, building toward the west.
Our twin clouds (Topeka/Kansas City???) build up toward the northwest.
A smaller build up over the Minneapolis area toward the northeast and over Chicago to the east.
And a minute build up (if any) over over Indianapolis.

This is going to sound so corny... but it's almost like.. smoke signals.
Dont hit me.

After considering giving ncfriend a proper thrashing, I looked more into smoke signals.

Quote:
As the signals were visible to all, unless they had a secretly understood significance they would be conveying the information alike to friend and enemy. There were, however, certain more or less recognized abstract smoke signals, of which the following are a few. One puff meant ATTENTION. Two puffs meant ALL'S WELL. Three puffs of smoke, or three fires in a row, signifies DANGER, TROUBLE, OR A CALL FOR HELP.

We could look at this. We could also try translating any smoke signals into binary or morse code.

Falling in line with gcdoa's updates theory...

It just hit me a few moments ago in the #tomtooman channel.

We discovered ajkin.com/.net way back on page 18.

We get an update on Saturday the 11th.

Another update a page ago, this morning, Thursday the 16th.

What are these updates doing? Adding detail. If it's consistent updating every 5 days, we'll get another update on the 21st. Thanks to Ancient Scripts we know that the Mayan calendar will be changing "months" if you will on the 22nd. I'll bank it all on the idea that we get another detail update on the 21st, and keeping with gcdoa's OTHER theory on an update when the Mayan calendar leaves Yaxk'in on the 22nd, we'll know what to do with it then. Please, as I remind myself more than others, let's bear with it- I think we're looking at a decent sized break. Smile

Brownie

EDIT: As in break like, what we're looking for will show.

The Atlantic hurricane season started in June; the game is coinciding with the first named storms of the season.

Nice that there's new info, though.

I have approximated the smoke clouds with what cities are located underneath. Now please note that this involved a lot of guesswork, and I am not completely satisfied with the Colorado Springs location.

Minnesota
Quote:
Dakota Sioux were the region's sole residents until explorers arrived from France in about 1680.

Kansas
Quote:
In the 1840s, wagon trains made their way west from Independence, Missouri, on a 2,000 miles (3,000 km) journey following what would come to be known as the Oregon Trail. About 60 miles (97 km) west of Kansas City, Missouri, three half Kansas Indian sisters married to the French-Canadian Pappan brothers established a ferry service allowing travelers to cross the Kansas River at what is now Topeka. During the 1840s and into the 1850s, travelers could reliably find a way across the river (and plenty of whiskey) but little else was in the area.

In the early 1850s, traffic along the Oregon Trail was supplemented by trade on a new military road stretching from Fort Leavenworth through "Topeka" to the newly-established Fort Riley. In 1854, after completion of the first cabin, nine men established the "Topeka Town Association." Included among them was Cyrus K. Holliday, an "idea man" who would become mayor of Topeka and founder of the Atchison, Topeka, and Santa Fe Railroad. Soon, steamboats were regularly docking at the Topeka landing, depositing meat, lumber, and flour and returning eastward with potatoes, corn, and wheat. By the late 1860s, Topeka had become a commercial hub providing access to many of the Victorian era's comforts.

Illinois
Quote:
During the mid-18th century the Chicago area was inhabited primarily by Potawatomis, who took the place of the Miami and Sauk and Fox people. The first settler in Chicago, Haitian Jean Baptiste Pointe du Sable, arrived in the 1770s, married a Potawatomi woman, and founded the area's first trading post. In 1803 the United States Army built Fort Dearborn, which was destroyed in 1812 in the Fort Dearborn Massacre. The Ottawa, Ojibwa, and Potawatomi later ceded the land to the United States in the Treaty of St. Louis of 1816. On August 12, 1833, the Town of Chicago was organized with a population of 350, and within seven years it grew to a population of over 4,000. The City of Chicago was incorporated on March 4, 1837.

Indiana
Quote:
Indianapolis was founded as the state capital in 1821. Jeremiah Sullivan, a judge of the Indiana Supreme Court, invented the name Indianapolis by joining Indiana with polis, the Greek word for city; literally, Indianapolis means "Indiana City". The city was founded on the White River under the incorrect assumption that the river would serve as a major transportation artery; however, the waterway was too sandy for trade.

Here's a list of addresses that may be relevant to the map. I tried searching for "red cloud" near the areas of stationary heavy cloud cover. All can be found via Google Maps.

Red Cloud St
Colorado Springs, CO 80911

Red Cloud Trail
Elbert, CO 80106

Red Cloud Ridge
Elbert, CO 80106

Red Cloud Rd
Woodland Park, CO 80863

Red Cloud Ln
Elgin, IL 60124

W Red Cloud Dr
Lockport, IL 60441

Also a list of cities with the "smoke signal" clouds:

Colorado Springs, CO
Kansas City, KS
Topeka, KS
Minneapolis, MN
Indianapolis, IN
Chicago, IL
Somewhere near Eureka Springs, AR

Maybe the zip codes or area codes can be strung together to make a phone number or IP address?

Edit: Damn, beat me to it.

Edit 2: "find what's mssng" could either place emphasis on the IN and IL locations (the i's) or lead us to look at the city of Red Cloud, NE.

You got scans there Rushkoff? It'd be nice to see some proof.

Like tygr says:
<tygr20> I want scans, and like ebay made me do with the wii, I want to see him holding the letter/stickers and a close up with some marking indicating it's his

I concur.

How's this for a connection SpaceBass runs a site dedicated to ARG's and Chaotic fiction both forms of viral marketing which according to your site you wrote a book about in say oh 1994?

I don't get it. Why would someone promoting this ARG send a letter to someone who isn't even affiliated with Unfiction?

Rushkoff, do you run a website promoting ARGs? Maybe this person is trying to promote the game through many different ARG outlets.

Edit: And, how would you even know to come to the Unfiction forums to say you got a letter in the first place?
