If you look at the file name of the license plate picture on his blog, it is "Nines_ClueSix.jpg"
So you are correct stary.

so a recap of the clues then
--clue 1 leads us to Gabriel's blog
--clue 2 leads us to SL
--clue 3 gives us Aug 26
--clue 4 points us to 4 cities (1 in SL)
--clue 5 points us toward the convention??
--clue 6 gives us the time (GMT 17:30)
--clue 7 spot the difference????
Not sure what to make of that one yet
the end of your world? could it be the nines house in SL?

In a summary of the plot given on various sites it seems that the character (the actor) is put under house arrest in the house and cannot cross the red line otherwise alarms go off (as seen in the trailer) I'm guessing the quote at the bottom is an actual quote from the movie.
I'm not sure if the house in the cartoon is the house in SL or not. It might be worth seeing if we can find that red line in SL (it does give a measurement of 100 feet) as that might be what the spot the difference puzzle is trying to say (especially as there are 4 versions of the cartoon)
Maybe the red line will be a sign we have found the correct location on august 26 (ok reaching rather alot there)
Well i'll be back in the house tonight having another look, lol. it's like my second home at the moment.

The circle with the two lines might be a clock. If so, the long hand is pointing to 12 and the short hand is pointing to 9. So 9 o'clock.

you might have a point there and it falls into the whole 9 theme as well

Check this out!

The most interesting part is "Metaversility is planning one clue to be planted at SLCC, although there will be something for everyone who gets involved in this hunt."

How are you getting the really closeup pics in SL? I'm still pretty new to it.

[17:13] Peter Newell: have you figured out how to work with the camera to get close up shots yet?
[17:26] Klaudio Dragonash: Yes, yes I have. I hear there may be a clue at SLCC. Since I have no way of making it there and I dont know anyone that does, is there a chance this clue will be somewhere else also?
[17:27] Peter Newell: yeah, it was actually misinterpreted. A clue is not released at SLCC, but clues involve SLCC (as you all have deduced)
[17:27] Peter Newell: "something happens at SLCC"
[17:27] Klaudio Dragonash: Awesome! Thanks for clearing that up
[17:28] Peter Newell: no problem
[17:28] Peter Newell: also, you'll probably have an easier time finding clues to help with current puzzle now
[17:28] Peter Newell: they were in carbonel's office, now they should be more evident.
[17:29] Klaudio Dragonash: I see. very interesting!
Now I'm going to go do some searching!

Okay, I'm having a problem way back at the start of the trail. I've heard everyone referencing SL coords at the end of the youtube video... but all I'm seeing is "http://slurl.com/secondlife". No coordinates. No coordinates at that website either. Am I missing something, or have they changed the video?

It's still there, its at the 17 second mark. Another way to get there is to do a search for "look for the nines" in SL.

There are some new books upstairs in the house (and one next to the typewriter), and they are also in Carbonel's office. They are for "Steganography" (same as the ones downstairs).
Steganography enables you to use digital data hiding techniques to hide files and messages within other files (carriers) such as picture or sound files. This allows you to encrypt sensitive information, while at the same time hiding it in a file that will not look suspicious, so nobody even knows that there is any encrypted information.
I'm pretty sure there is a hidden message or something in the "Spot the difference!" pictures, but I haven't been able to find a program that will extract it yet.

Press M to go into mouselook mode, then press ctrl-0 to zoom in, ctrl-8 to zoom out, and ctrl-9 to go back to normal.

Right i assume someone will be interrupting a conference or something on the day. We need to get a confirmed place where we can all listen at one time.
EDIT: ok http://slcc2007.wordpress.com/in-world-slcc-info/ is a list of the in-world events which will be live streaming. However Dublin isn't on there (hmm)...so will have to go to one of the major sites listed. There will only be audio and not video so hopefully we will be able to tell if there is a message given out. however still not certain which room/stream to listen to as there are multiple events happening at the same time in different rooms. Maybe the hidden message in the spot the difference puzzle will help.
What were the names/authors of the books found? I think we need more information in order to decrypt them such as a key/cypher etc... Would be easier if we knew which program was used to encrypt it in the first place.
I can't check for another 8 hours, booo!

The Nines Spot the Differences I've been playing around with the 4 images and there's definitely something hidden in them. Not sure what yet but have a look at these copies where I've lowered the lightness and increased the saturation.

Let me know if anyone has any further ideas.
Thanks!
