Cruel 2B Kind Advice

Hey all. I've decided that I want to run a game of Cruel 2B Kind here in the Twin Cities but I've run into the problem that I don't know what kind of area I should run in it. I was hoping there'd be some people here who had some experience.

In particular I'm wondering how large an area it should be and what kind of area would be best - downtown? A park? Something else? Plus any other advice on running a game would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Not done so myself, but "I know a man who has". It was based in Soho, London before Christmas so if you can do it there I guess you can do it anywhere! The thread discussing it is at Perplexorum (the alternative Perplex City forum) here. Note they had some difficulties with getting enough people with mobile phones that e-mailed satisfactorily, something that I think is less of a problem in the states. My own says it will, has all the functionality, but neither I nor anyone for the service provider seems to be able to actually get it to send or receive an e-mail (Sony Ericsson K800i and O2 UK). There's always gmail and WAP though.

It really does depend on the number of people that you've got playing however when I ran the one in soho it took everyone quite a long time to find another team and some people got a little disheartened. If I were to do it again I would firstly make sure that boundries you set are very clear,so people don't wonder off and also tend toward making it slightly too small rather than making it very large.

I don't think it really matters if you decide on a park or streets however it would obviously need to be a pretty busy park, an area simply full of players would be a little weak.

Also, make sure you end up in a bar and give doughnuts to the players. It keeps them happy.

Finally, and most clicheicly, remember to have fun.

TWL or SOWPODS? /scrabulous fanboy

Scrabulous had ruined my productivity, and now I limit myself to playing at lunchtime, rather than every time I sit down. Now it just ruins my lunch Rolling Eyes
