 		[SPEC] Alternate "01-18-08" Meanings
Maybe not just a date?
Anyone have ideas on what "01-18-08" could mean besides a date?
I've been thinking, what if it is (or also is) a countdown?

1 day, 18 weeks, 8 months?

I don't know. It doesn't make much sense like that but maybe it's not just a date. It could be a code... zipcode maybe?

I thought about this a bit. It looks like by flipping the first two sets of numbers it can be arranged to be 10-81-08 or 108 108(The Abrams Number)

I checked 108108.com and instead of getting a "no server whatever bla bla" msg, I got a blank page that "No web site is configured at this address."
Same difference I guess, but this was a first for that mesg for a bad web address...I don't remember experiencing it before.

Perhaps there are some other things we need to flip (in the same fashion) to get a result to unlock the next step...

Just Idea's, perhaps it will inspire someone.

I keep thinking that Abrams said that we only found one site... meaning there is more (right?) so where is it? I think slusho.jp was found well before Abrams made that statement, so what else is there? {Head scratching}

I need to know

 		I find it strange that you believe any website with the number 1 8 and 0 have something to do with Cloverfield.

Take a look at the failure that was Ethan Haas was right, triton enterprises website wasn't very obvious in the fact that it looked like a under construction business website, not a website dealing with the prophecies of Ethan Haas.

We only decided to look at slusho because when apple put the hd trailers up, we could see some guy with slusho on his shirt, prompting us to go to slusho.com.

The urls will not be obvious.

Wrong! Run a search and you'll see that I've debunked this (along with other members) pointing to the fact that iMDB and other people in the LA area associated the site location as "Slusho" as well as the a.k.a. on iMDB which led to the discovery of the website.

 		I'd still venture a guess that the first post on this board (the TRAILHEAD post) was actually posted by a Puppet Master. _ZD posted only once and hasn't been heard from since opening that can of worms. While not proving this theory, it does fit for the rules governing PMs on this board.

Maybe, but I think someone would have eventually posted it in here after watching the Transformers movie and seeing the trailer. We're pretty good at sniffing out questionable stuff seen in tv or the movies. It would have found it's way in here even without any PM posting it.

The buzz around is pretty significant. Magazines and other online reporters have picked up on all the internet interest about the trailer and the extended reality associated with the characters in the trailer, and all the mystery behind the cryptic website and poster.

Who knows why it was a post-and-run.

I agree. If it was a PM, then they were either anxious to get things started or underestimated how observant the folks around here are. At the very least, things would have kicked off here after the coverage at IMDB, AICN and the like. I am curious as to why this moved from CF with Potential to full ARG status when it did, but that's discussion for another time.

And as usual, they were about 2 weeks late getting on the ball... Laughing

EDIT on the PM - underestimating the people on this forum is an understatement but it does raise a question of why a PM would slip in and post this at all if the going speculative theory they weren't even remotely ready for player base to happen holds water.
