Well it's nice to see I'm not the only one over 40 Smile Thanks ncfriend! (By the way not only did I like Shawn Cassidy I had and 8 track cassette! "Da Do Run Run" - How's that for Scary! Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing )

I had an Annie(TM) Record player and a Sonny and Cher single 45 of "I got you Babe". I thought I was the rockinest kid on the block...I had a bunch of other 45s too, but that's the one I remember the most. And yes, I got them from my mom and sister...which is why it was Sonny and Cher and not Madonna or Michael Jackson. (Do I get redemption points? Laughing Laughing )

And WolfHawk, I have the Star Wars posters too (and a couple of t-shirts even), so come back out here! (My very butch-y sister was very surprised to find out that I change my own tires, and sometimes even my own oil.) My sister had the make-up and perfume, but didn't want anything to do with any of it...it was my mom's effort to try to get her to be more girly. So, get yer butt back here, pronto, missy!

Edit: You're back, that's better. Thank you.

woohoo!

hey.. my MOM taught me how to change my oil in my very first car. (Mercury Zephyr Station Wagon, Dark Green.. that i totaled the second month I owned it. Sad Back then we just called it being a tomboy. LOL. Now it's being EMPOWERED! LOL

but perfume doesn't have to be for the girly girls only. Heck, you already wear some kind of scent if you wear deodorant. Sometimes my favorite scent is just Secret Powder Fresh hahah.

Late to Join the Discussion

I am just reading the whole discussion you guys had about perfumes - what a flood of memories it released.

I have been mostly "lurking" since the second week of the game, just posting occasionally, but I have really enjoyed the camaraderie and support of this group. I have no one in real life who can or would appreciate me talking about this game (my husband thinks I'm crazy), so it is nice to have you guys.

I promise I won't go on about this too long, WolfHawk, but I'm just wondering if anyone else (other than probably SJP - who's an Ohio girl, too) remembers Bonne Bell Skin Musk? It may be an Ohio thing (the company is based there.) You may have known Bonne Bell Lip Smackers?

I too, just turned 40. I started off with Love's Baby Soft, and graduated up to Bonne Bell Skin Musk in college. Drakkar Noir was the sexy scent my first boyfriend wore, too.

Now my favorites are Lovely, Bvlgari Omnia Amethyst, and still occasionally Bonne Bell Skin Musk. Can't wait to get Covet (I was hoping to win a gift bag, but no luck yet!)

Covet
Case of the Coveted

Hey I usually just lurk but the comment about strawberry shortcake brought back such memories!

I remember Blueberry and the other characters which I cant remember specific names of any (old age creeping up)

You guys are great. Congrats to everyone who won the week to week prizes so far. If I ever figure anything out fast enough I will be sure to post it here for everyone.

You ready for this?

My wife's aunt WAS Bonnie Bell.

She helped develop and gave her name to the line. It was her idea to market perfumes and makeup to younger girls. She was a cool lady, I only wish I had had the chance to know her better. She passed about our 4th year together. (Wife and I have been together 13 years.)

Bonnie Bell

Wolf Hawk, I have worn Bonnie Bell clear lip gloss since I was a little girl!!!! I actually had to start ordering it in batches over the phone directly from the company because they stopped selling it in the stores. I thought they had discontinued it and almost had a heart attack Shocked My Mom got me addicted to it since she used to used it. (It's the one that looked more like an adult lipstick not chap-stick.) My whole family kids me about it because I can't live without it! How neat that you knew the actual woman Bonnie Bell!! Smile

Wow, you just blew my mind, WolfHawk. It really is a small world! It is so cool that she was your aunt-in-law - sorry to hear that she has passed on.

I know that Bonnie Bell (the person) and Bonne Bell (the brand) were really great about supporting the community and women's and girls' issues in and around Cleveland, Ohio. They sponsored a "fun run" every year, with the proceeds going to area charities/non-profits.

I was so excited at 8 years old to get to run in the "fun run", since it left right from their headquarters, and you got a goodie bag full of Lip Smackers and other products!

Anyway, sorry for the digression other Covet-eers. About now you are probably like - how did we get off on this tangent??
