if you look up Morgaine Badeau on myspace.com the user Morgaine Belaso comes up. http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendID=206131666
the password vouloirunhomme doesn't translate into anything. The website www.myfrenchtutor.com that is listed under one of the Lucky mag. stickers doesn't exist.
the e-mail address dymaspceSPLAT gmail.com doesn't exist.[/url]

As the foregoing guest posts hint, the first challenge has been posted. We need to figure out the police captain's passcode for the evidence room.
Our hint - a report on SJP's alleged crime with www.myspace.com handwritten at the bottom and a password as well (vouloirunhomme). The report is signed by M Badeau (which led to the discovery of Cpataine Belaso's account by curlyfry, not sure how since the "mbadeau" on myspace is not a french policeman). Vouloirunhomme is not the password for the evidence room. So far our guests report the password doesn't work on on some myspace accounts. (It would be helpful if you would post what accounts you have tried to save everyone the trouble of reproducing your work.)
Morgaine Belaso's myspace profile ("captainemb"): http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendID=206131666
Two witnesses are listed - the suspiciously named Danielle Ymaspce and Mrs. Pendleton, along with their emails (dymaspce@gmail and mrsp@hotmail, respectively). They don't seem to have myspace profiles under those nicks.
Danielle and Mrs. P seem to have myspace accounts with those email addresses, but "vouloirunhomme" does not work as the password for them or for Captaine Belaso. "Too many failed logins" is the result and the account gets locked.
Has anyone emailed the witnesses to see if they can help us help SJP?
Belaso's blog interests give me an idea - would she have used an obscure impressionist as a password? Just an idea. No time to try that now.

Mailer Daemon, in his infinite wisdom, tells me that Ms. Danielle Ymaspce doesn't have a gmail account and, alas, my email was undeliverable.

She lied to the police about her email address? Even MORE suspicious!

Perhaps it's just because I'm incredibly bored at work, but has anyone ELSE read Mme. Captaine's blog entries... ?

Is it just me... or does anyone else see that Danielle Ymaspce looks like Danielle "myspace". That was the first thing that caught my attention when I say the name.
As for reading the blog entry's on the Captaine's myspace account, I have. the most recent post when she is describing what the hungarian sound like to her looks like it could be some sort of ROT code, but the post was done on the 5th i believe (can't access Myspace at the moment to confirm). maybe that is the clue we are looking for?

I agree. It's a very cleverly concealed anagram, no? Perhaps this is the myspace account we need to hack. I'm already lost.
It's not a ROT, Caesar, Cryptogram, or Atbash.

which myspace page are you trying to get into? just wondering because i dont think someone would make an IG myspace page and give out the password... how many people are going to try to re arrange and delete or add a bunch of crap to it.
i tried three different myspace pages and they're all "non existant".. that was last night. this morning one of them is now "existant". i wonder if people are just messing around....

I don't know if Danielle Ymaspce's page is canon or not. Mme. Captaine's is, though. It was mentioned in the "official" blog.
EDIT: the "Hungarian" isn't an autokey cipher (with any letter), nor is it a keyword cipher (Hungary/hungarian/magyar)

The only thing I don't get about the Captaine's myspace page is, If she is a police captaine in Paris, why is her page make her sound like an Art Dealer/Collector and no mention of her being in the Police. Also the photo on her myspace account is the same on the Profiles page in the game, but the last name is different. Perhaps this is not the right Myspace page we were suppose to find?

At the bottom of her "details" section it lists her occupation as "public service." That name thing *is* strange, isn't it? I tried both last names as keyword ciphers, too, but no dice.

Ran it through a crypto program and it's not coming up with anything particular either.

It did say she was divorced... Maybe on of the names was her married name and the other her maiden name?

Okies. I've tried all the decrypt programs on purple hell, and they don't know what it is either. Maybe we're barking up the wrong cipher.
And she *is* divorced. Hmmmm.
