Cause I was just reposting what someone else wrote for those who wanted it and didnt know the answer was available. It wasnt like I wrote it in plain sight, I put it in the spoiler strip. Rolling Eyes

I am just thankful that there are people out there that want to help others. Thanks your "hints" I've been able to continue playing, otherwise I'll be stuck on the first challenge. Smile

I think she's referring to the Power Scents forum, which is "in game", rather than here, which is "out of game".

It's the 4th wall thing.

And I was the one that posted over there...sorry, k? Didn't realize it was a faux pas...lesson learned...

April & Emhamm & all,

It was in reference to the post on the ingame forum that April tried very hard to keep discreet, but it was also said to help all people new to an ARG-type game to know the distinction between in-game and out of game resources.

Faux pas are part of the learning experience & I have made many of my own, I was just trying to help others to not repeat the mistakes I know I have made when I was new to this genre.

I didn't want to hurt any feelings or step on any toes, which is why I pointed no fingers, just a generic reminder / information sharing for all.

This game has brought quite a few new people to my favorite place on the web, and since I actually am one of the moderators for unfiction, a little teaching / correction is part of what *I feel* that position entails.

Please don't be offended, I was only trying to help others to not make a faux pas.

Very Happy Embarassed
No harm, no foul. I'm actually kind of embarrassed that I didn't realize it. It was an altruistic motion, though, in my defense.

I just wonder if it's ok to ask questions regarding clues, and then answer them, without flat out giving away the answer (prodding along, in the right general direction), in the in game setting, like "Power Scents". It seems to me that the game is sort of designed for us to be a group/team type thing, scouring the interwebbernets to free SJP from her Parisian jail cell.

My guess is that more people, at least the myspace people, know more about the "Power Scents" group, than know about Unfiction. I, for one, wouldn't have found it without nosing around on the game website, while looking for some kind of an answer for the first clue, and I wonder how many are the same way.

Whereas there are people here that aren't on myspace, or flickr.

On a completely unrelated note, I just found out I'm eligible for a "Pro" account on flickr, thanks to this game...so maybe I'll discover more little perks to my interwebbernet services. Laughing

BACK TO THE GAME...anybody got any more possible leads of people? Szaglas given any more information up?

I sent a message to our friend Katalin, haven't gotten a reply yet, anybody else?

We give flat out ANSWERS here at uF. Because we are OUT OF GAME. But in deference to our colleagues we spoiler the good stuff. Because that's polite.

We try to maintain the facade of interaction with game characters (melisande, morgaine, for example) as another character, but then we come back here and talk about them and THEY DON'T KNOW.

OH they know specially when people tend to spill it on ingame forums or the comments on myspace.

kata

hey on a different note. i'm not too sure that when M. S. is speaking of the blurred photo that she is abbreveating Katalin. I'm thinking she means another person. When I looked for Kata on Google earlier a Myspace page came up on page 2 for a German photograher.

I doubt that it means anything as she isn't one of M. S.'s friends but you never know.........
Just a thought

Nice find...
Her profile was created 10/20/06.

You can check this by looking at the blogs, even when they don't have anything posted. I think the general consensus of the profiles found is that they are not in game if they were created before 6/26/07, which is when Morgaine's, M. Szaglas, and somebody name Cornelia's pages were created.

Wink

Ersebet's, Katalin, and Tony's profiles were created within the last month or so, my best guess is either the newer, and perhaps lesser, leads are yet to be created, OR they are private profiles.

Or maybe we've found all the pages to be found? Hmmm...speculation...

Is it Monday Night yet?

Challenge time

I was just curious as to what time the new challenges are posted. I am on Eastern Time if that makes a difference.

Does anybody have any idea when the winners for week 2 & 3 are going to be posted?
