I was just on Linkedin and there is a Kovacs listed as B Nb and his site says " B Nb is not currently open to receiving Introductions or InMail." Does anyone know anything about this? Confused

Just catching up and preparing for the evening... saw that you all found a blog for JB... I don't think it's Islamic calender, I'm an 'ol backpacker and I've been in the military since I can't remember, I think it's longitude and latitude. Plus, the Islamic calender is 354 days long, making different years different lengths, so they don't consider them 20.02 that would be Febuary 20th. Does that make sense? However, Hungary is Lat 47.00 and Lon 20.00. I don't know if I'm right, then anyone who doesn't know how to track stuff down with degrees I'll help. Sorry I didn't get on earlier. I only give myself one day of this, deploying again, haven't had much time!

It's not that 20.02 is February 20th. It's that he posted on 9/2/07, which corresponds to the 20th day of their month.

In order of the blog posts, with the first being 6/30, here are the dates:
6/30 - 15th day
7/30 - 15th day
8/2 - 18th day
8/4 - 20th day
8/5 - 21st day
8/12 - 28th day
8/20 - is the 6th or 7th day (which is the only really strong deviation, but if you look at a lunar calendar, not Islamic, and count, that day would fall on the 8th day from the new moon, not counting the new moon)
9/2 - 20th day

It may not be the Islamic Calendar, but it is my belief, at this point that those numbers are related to the moon in some kind of way.

http://www.phys.uu.nl/~vgent/islam/islam_tabcal.htm

The dates listed above are found on his blog if you "hover" above the time stamp, which is the time the blog was posted.

has anybody
found anybody

from Nice or Grasse?

Aren't there supposed to be two women from Grasse and Nice?

And then there's Kovacs and Barnesworth...and Szaglas...

In the Group photo on the webpage, there are six outlines...any ideas as to the sixth?

two cents

I'd like to throw my hat in. I have been attempting to calculate the following from the blog. We are given exact time and date (of each blog), (presumed) homepoint (-07:00 GMT; being that the rest of the blog is mostly fiction), location (e.g., NY), azimuth (e.g., 15), altitude (e.g., .09). Going on the presumption that at 9:47, 6/30/07, the Sun was .09 degrees above the horizon, azimuth was 15 degrees. (azimuth:This is the direction of a celestial object, measured clockwise around the observer's horizon from north. So an object due north has an azimuth of 0°, one due east 90°, south 180° and west 270°. )

Given all this information, one should be able to calculate someone's location on earth. I believe the crescent moon and islamic qibla-indicator was meant to show us that no matter where on earth we are, there are tools to allow us to calculate our position (e.g., and subsequent prayer times). My problem is I have been unable to find the equivalent of an online sextant (used by sailors to plot their position and course).

If this sounds geeky, please ignore!! I have been so close each week but have overlooked some minor detail each time that left me in someone else's dust. I just want the feeling of accomplishment of finding the ENTIRE answer without peeking on this blog. Don't get me wrong, I love this place. (I plan to donate for its cause as soon as a check comes in!! I hope all of u will, even $5 from a bunch of us will help maintain the site. And no one paid me to say this!)

So the one who said they would help w/calculations, each of the ones posted on JB's blog puts u in Africa.

I have pursued several avenues this week. The other was looking up the passages in the Quran, in case there's a cipher!! Yes, I got obsessed this weekend!! Good luck to all.

Let me know if u find one. I (obviously) have been searching. I can find places where you can plug in this data and it gives u positions of celestial bodies, but not vice versa. At one pt, I thought it might be Venus we were trailing b/c Venus was at the exact coordinates when JB was in NY. The closest thing I found was a satellite for NASA. Think they'd let us use it tonight? HAHA. Lady 1234, first, thank you for serving and protecting. What branch r u in? I was Army. And second, do u think we could use a GPS to calculate? I don't know how to use it, but I have one. Thanks.

I found directions on how to do it, I'm probably pretty sure we've probably found the same links...what terms are you using to search?

Is that what we're looking for?

This, this I have no idea how to do, but I'll try to find resources to do it with...
