 		Aporia's looking for some assistance on next project
Hello everyone,

My name is Jason and I'm the lead developer at Aporia Cross-Media Entertainment. Really small group that has spent the last several months in an effort to start bringing ARGs to smaller companies to use for marketing platforms. This strategy has so far been unsuccessful, so we're looking at doing what we really love again - entertaining the masses.

We're in the infancy of our next grassroots project and we're looking for assistance in developing the game. I'll provide as many details as I can without providing any specific details.

I am projecting this project to develop over the next two years (year and a half or so actually), so it will consume a significant part of your life. The game will not last quite that long, but I am alotting for a long development time with specific deadlines and launch dates already planned. This is currently a grassroots game so I can't expect to financially reward any members at this point in time.

I will be requesting members to have skype availability for meetings and team to team communication, we may expand upon this in the future to better meet the team's needs.

Some of our current needs:

Writers - We're looking for individuals that have some experience with mythology, health, science, and/or education (I know there are some raised eyebrows with that combination LOL). We are wanting to put together the extra content for the game which is the back story and supporting elements that will be used throughout the game. These writers may not necessarily be building scripts for any of the characters. There are some specific details I would like to work out with the writers, some agreement type stuff - so if you're interested definitely send me an email, pm, or skype me (contact details provided later).

Programmers - We're looking for an individual or individuals with diverse experience with programming. I cannot go into too much detail beyond specifically noting that much of the programming will be used for web development with some database development, ui development, etc. Some of the ui can wait but there is a more immense need that I would like to begin addressing sooner rather than later in the development process.

Graphics designers - This isn't quite an immediate need, but it would be good to begin putting some story ideas into a graphic form. This can be both hand/computer drawn or real life graphics as both forms will be used throughout the game.

Future areas of need (we're not currently hiring these but for a heads up for those who may be interested):

Actors/Actresses - We have begun some of the process of identifying actors and actresses to best give us the ability to match characters with the actors/actresses to get the best fit for that character's persona.
Video developers (directors/editors/cgi) **SEE BELOW**
Website builders **SEE BELOW**
Legal guidance (who doesn't need this sometimes LOL)
Event organizers
Sponsors (product placement/advertisements - $$ to reward staff and make it easier to produce the game)
Marketing(to help plan the launch of the game and any items that may be related to the game)


The goal of this game is to not necessarily create a chaotic fiction, but to create something not so chaotic but intensely immersive. The goal of the game is to allow players to really feel as though their reality isn't quite what they expected it to be, and to allow them to completely delve into nearly every aspect of the fiction. This isn't a game to promote a company, a product, a service, or anything in particular (though it may through product placement)... this isn't an effort to generate revenue (though we will be looking at various means of doing so in an effort to help turn the corner on ARGs becoming self sufficient)

The intention of this game is solely to create a fictional environment to entertain the masses. To hopefully create something which is leaps and bounds beyond the norm and may help to reinvent the culture of entertainment. Yes big goals, but it isn't life if we live day to day with small goals... gotta reach big now and again.

 		Now seeking:

Database/Web UI developer -
Must be able to setup a database/ UI system
Some flash would be nice
Javascript
Ajax
Ruby on Rails

potentially
.net
C++

The system will be in your hands to develop as you desire from the ground up to meet certian specifications. You will develop it with your own equipment / server (must be private but allow access to other staff members to test). You will, also, set-up the system with a fresh install on a new server near the launch date for the game.


Videography/Video Editing -

Looking for someone who can handle video editing
If you can do CG as well - all the better. There are some scenes which may require the morphing of objects and/or people and/or animals or other things.

As videographer you may, also, be given some tasks with casting for characters to ease some of the time requirements and process from hiring to producing the video strips. I am pre-hiring this position before need arises.
