I'm not sure we'll hear from RF much longer, anyway I don't think it will do us any good to ask him any questions about what happened to him when he went to find his wife. He says he is losing the memory of what happened.

Is it just me or does the figure on the couch that R.F. describes sound like one of those images from Sammy earlier on. I agree with whoever said these people exists in their minds hooked up to machines somewhere and that the red king is hooked up to perpetuating the dream world. I think the company would cause people to have accidents so they could test the red king's abilities. How they communicate with us. Not a clue. Perhaps the so called "dream machine"

Ok, so i didn't really too closely for instances of blue, seeing as RF has already concluded that blue is the color of prisoners...some interesting things to note in re the color blue:

On Aug 27 post, Greg runs around the house looking for RF and sees a flash of blue, the trips over a blue cat. Remember how Greg swore he owned a cat himself but woke up one day to discover that no one else remembers him ever owning a cat. Maybe the Red King is keeping Greg's cat prisoner in the same place that he's keeping all these other disappeared people.

Furthermore, it possible that the flash of blue that Greg saw was, in fact, RF, emphasizing the prisoner aspect of their own conditions. each of the project members has become a prisoner, either of mental illness or whomever is behind the project.

On Aug 20, Greg posts about other project members' hallucinations, describing a man named Tom. When Tom looks in the mirror, his eyes change from brown to blue.


As for the color green, here's the list I've compiled...please feel free to add if I've missed something green from the comments:

August 13: RF's double in the dinner is wearing a green jacket.
August 17: green ink pens in the squatter's shack
August 19: A young doctor with green eyes confines RF to a chair in a nightmare
August 24: RF is picked up by a man driving a green Camero (my mother used to have a green camero!)
August 24: Greg looks into the mirror and sees the twitcher with green eyes starring back at him
August 27: green muscle car at the gas station on the way to RF's family

Now, I'm not convinced that these green people are necessarily bad people. Most seem to be people who have an open connection to the project, but offer assistance in their own way. Even the young doctor with green eyes from RF's nightmare seems to want to help him. The counterargument however, is that the green eyed twitcher actually hurt Greg.

As for the black goo, i believe that if there is some nefarious entity behind the shared madness, it's attempting to pull RF and Greg deeper into this madness. The best way to accomplish this is to make them fear and or distance themselves from their support system. Whomever is behind this cuold be using the black goo as a way to "taint" anyone whom RF might rely on to draw him back from the mouth of madness.

Hello all. My net connection has been sporadic to bad the past few days (still on dial up), but having caught up with the posts to today, I don't have anything to add to the above except the following:

Rosalez: this name was mentioned before by Greg, and in his post about the house visit, it's one of the names that was discussed by "Tony" and the older and, presumably, Nazi researcher. Rosalez is the last name of this person who is a male and, even by the Nazi's standards, a "butcher". The "glorified masseuse" is the weird little man, Samuel Tyler, of course.

If Blue=prisoner, then Green, most likely equals "guard" given that most of the green references have been associated with what we would call very uncomfortable situations. Perhaps Green=watcher may be more appropriate.

The last post, by RF ("metamorphosis"), is particularly interesting and it's the closest to the type of thing that Sam would have written. The "he" RF refers to is probably not the Red King, but whoever the terrible person is that the blue boy mentions. Sam described RF the same way in the email that waitress #2 points out above, so she's definitely right in her thinking in this direction. The plural use in "he told me they were a king," is pretty interesting, when compared to this thing that the Nazi guy says in Greg's dream:

"House Of Leaves" is *definitely* one of the trippiest things that I've ever read.
I always thought that ARGers would love that book.
I hated when I was reading it in a public place and you would hit one of the pages where you have to turn the book upside down, or keep turning the book around because the writing was in a spiral. I must have looked like an idiot.

And I loved the labyrinth segment where the footnotes lead to dead ends and took you back to the beginning of the chapter.
Can't believe that was Mark Z.'s first book.
