Perhaps. I dropped the kidnapped's full name on R.F. to see if he recognizes it.
I don't know if it's in game, but the Wyoming incident involved what was probably a fake obituary, so I wouldn't rule it out entirely.

Also, R.F.'s own dream seems to be pretty integral to what's going on.

What to think about this new post with his dream? A blue sketched boy and his wife is oozing gook. Something is way wrong here. I'm begining to think that RF might have been an unwitting subject of a different experiment in some way. So far, we have all seen and know most of the same things he does about this experiment, yet none of us (that we know of) are experiencing the same hallucinations. To suffer PTSD, you have to go through something horrific. I wouldn't call the video or any of these recollections of his horrific, so there's something else we're missing right now. Perhaps they did something to him and some of the other "scientists" and then released them to observe the effects of what they had done by "cancelling the project".

I think the Center for Missing Children thing is a step in the wrong direction. I sincerely doubt that its in game and if it is, it shows either bad taste or poor judgement. People take missing children extremely seriously and to base a game around a real organization is only going to get someone in trouble. I would ignore it at all costs, but that's just my opinion.

PS Bubasture, please change your av. That is annoyingly big.

okay, some more information, so i'll go crossing things off from my end...

the link above to the missing and exploited children site, i have a hard time believing that there would be information on there that would help us, although perhaps the PM pulled the information _off_ the site to add a sense of realism. ~shrugs~ there is also a blurb here

http://www.doenetwork.org/cases/3dmil.html

about the same person. i am going to posit that this is oog... at least for contact purposes. i wouldn't go contacting the police or anything.

another thing to consider, from the blog post...

"I know many doubt you can see colors in dreams, but I know that boy was blue."

there is a painting called the "blue boy" by a Thomas Gainsborough. the boy himself isn't blue, but his clothing is... i doubt that it has anything going for it though.

also, there is documentation about inbred families in kentucky having a blue cast to their skin..

"Due to an enzyme deficiency, the blood of met-H victims has reduced oxygen-carrying capacity. Instead of being the usual bright red, arterial blood is chocolate brown and gives the skin of Caucasians a bluish cast. Hereditary met-H is caused by a recessive gene. If only one of your parents has this gene, you'll be normal, but if they both have it, there's a good chance you'll be blue."

another medical reason? plain old cyanosis. lack of oxygen.

~shrugs~

the only info i have been able to find about a lack of nose or eyes has been a blurb in an ancient indian text, but it refers to lack of ears as well, so, mweh.

that IS one messed up dream though, for sure.

perhaps someone should show him a picture of the dermot kid off the missing kids site and ask if that was the child from his dream.

:EDIT: - see everyone made comments about the missing kids site being oog, guess i took too long typing. mweh.

I agree, it would be in bad taste, indeed, but that doesn't mean that the PM wouldn't use it. The obituary on the Wyoming Incident (I know I'm talking about it a lot, but this has the same bad vibe to me) was, I think on an official site.

And I also agree with the "experiment on the scientists" thing.
The fact that R.F. had never owned a green truck, and then suddenly has had one his entire life is unsettling, especially with his dream taken into account. Nobody would completely forget a vehicle they've owned their entire lives....

Also, another theory to the blue boy...
I've read about alien abductee reports that involve a very similar blue outline, of a child sized figure with large dark eyes. Note that this was a transparent outline with virtually nothing inside it, like a sketch. Could be nothing, but I thought I'd let it out.

Also wondering two things about the truck:

1. If the subject's dream where he is driving in the "car" may have been the same truck?

2. If R.F. has checked glovebox, tirewell, etc. for info about ownership or any notes.

...also agree the missing kids site would be poor taste to use, but seems worth a shot.

Good idea about the glove box. I asked him to check.

Something indeed seems very wrong with R.F.... I keep recalling the film "Jacob's Ladder," in which
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
a group of Vietnam veterans experience demonic hallucinations as a result of unknowingly being subjected to drug experiments during the war. Like R.F., they all experience the same symptoms but are extremely paranoid and reluctant to talk to each other about them.

Yeah, I got that, too.
The twitchy head effect (like the end of the video) was pretty much invented by that movie, I'd like to add.
I'd also like to add that the game series, Silent Hill, is inspired directly by Jacob's Ladder, and the fifth installment has just been announced in this year's E3.
Could this be a Silent Hill 5 ARG?

Until RF speficially calls out a website for us to look at, I would stick to only using the clues given on the blog. Running off looking at random sites found with Google has a high percentage chance of being a red herring. This isn't to say a site explaining PTSD to someone who doesn't know what it is or something of that nature doesn't have some meta reference value. But if you're in to playing the odds, only using what is given never lets you down.

The method that the PM seems to prefer is to have us hammer him with 20 questions. I think this is where we should focus our energy instead of going around the PM and researching on our own.

According to some posts online, Dermot Faulkner Kelly was one of the first 75 children listed with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. He is a real missing person. Dermot Faulkner Kelly disappeared from Ogelsby, Il on January 30, 1972. The connection to Illinois, the year, and the age is remarkably close to what RF tells us about the subject's friend.

Not to mention his first name and what his last name starts with.
If the page is OOG, I'm guessing that this missing person was probably an inspiration, while not actually IG.
I'm actually considering trashing my query to R.F.....

Keep in mind that if this is being done by Bambos, a real person might have been chosen to be included in the storyline just to add realism.

Real people both famous and ordinary were featured more than once in WI. He even used the dead mayor of Lusk, Wyoming as an antagonist.

Including real people who are currently or may still possibly be living without their conscent or stirring up the emotions of the family of a missing person by using their name as part of a game is extremely bad form. If that's what's going on here, I'm completely out and I hope all of you would be as well. That's asking for nothing but trouble. I would even venture a guess that the powers that be here at UF might shut this thread down and bar the game if it is based off an active missing persons report. That's legal trouble that no one wants or needs.

That said, I'm going to hope that is not the case and completely dismiss the missing persons angle for now. Hopefully, you all see the implications if the game is moving that way and would ignore as well.

That sounds about like Bambos, to me.
Of course I wouldn't get angry until R.F. says it is this missing person (I asked him, so it should be confirmed/denied tomorrow at the earliest).

Regarding the post made on page 2 about the number set "4638150968620656962" found in the source code, it is the PostID number that blogger uses. If you put your mouse over the comments section of the post entitled "The Theories", you will see the number come up just after the words "POSTID".

Looks like this:
