Jason: This thing looks nothing like some big ****ing squid. Those tentacles ripped into that building like it was some ****ing pudding pop, besides that though-
Rob: I know. The claws, The head. It especially wasn't dumb.Thats why I think it hosted on something else.

I think some badass squid-lizard mutation would make a pretty good monster. I think we are hung up on the squid thing but as Jason said:This thing looks nothing like some big ****ing squid.

I dont see any reason (other than the contract thing, which this woman could very well have had her OWN reasons for. Remember: just because YOU don't know the reasons behind something doesn't mean it's not true ) that this would have to be fake. I think the dialoge fits in perfectly with what we know so far.
I don't think the idea is that outlandish at all. A squid that, because of it's extremely intense living conditions, gets it's DNA mixed with other creatures. If you really think it's THAT outlandish, then you must not be very familiar with biology (or perhaps to be a bit more accurate, the limits of what biology can currently tell us).
I don't think how they explain the plot is fake sounding at all. It's a DIALOGUE, not a monologue. I don't see why anyone would question the idea that one character could be telling this information to another character who doesn't know it.
I don't know. It just sounds like some of you are so eager to dismiss this simply because it doesn't fit into what you want the movie to be.
Again, I'm not saying it's def real, I just don't think it needs to be dismissed as easily as many of you seem to be dismissing it.

Err.. lemme change one thing about my previous post.
I think the plot would become alot more believable with a better understanding of astrophysics, maybe not simply biology. That line about the black hole really does it.

I am going to go out on a limb here and wager that people do not believe it to be genuine because of the source.
I mean come on. The new guy he has on his team (DirectX7.0 or whatever) used the same lame, faked posters in his little video that Brad used and said were the real deal.
Another thing, no one, and I mean no one, is going to jeopardize their livelihood to let enquirering minds in on what the movie is about at the high risk of losing said livelihood. Seriously.

Hm seems to fit in with every thing thats been confirmed/somewhat confirmed, also fits in with other dialogue ive read... I guess we'll have to wait untill 1-18-08 to find out if its true or not.
What other dialogue have you read? Sorry if thats a stupid question just thought this was the first dialogue we have seen.

Uh... we don't know ANYTHING. The only concrete proof we have is the actual movie poster.
And, forgive me, but Rob doesn't look like a typical astrophysicist. I personally know two of them, in case you're wondering.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I do believe we've seen a trailer, also.
And you don't have to be an astrophysicist to know the that black holes contain great deals of pressure, and defy traditional physics laws. "Rob" also said that "Mr. Masa" told him this stuff. And I don't suppose you also have to be an astrophysicist to have someone who clearly knows a thing or two about biology and astrophysics to explain a rather simple concept to you.
And no, I wasn't wondering.

The "dialog" is hackneyed and suspiciously convenient expository fan fiction from a source known to be an idiot.

That "dialog" sounds like something George Lucas would cook up. I don't buy it. As for it not being that outlandish... as someone with degrees in biology (and currently working on an advanced degree in genetics), explain to me how that idea isn't really contrived, and absolutely impossible. I am all for suspension of belief, but that would be ridiculous, like some 1950's monster junk.
If you want to suspend belief, fine, but don't try to feed me that its really a possibility...

As if this needed another hole poked in it, according to Rob's MySpace page, he was a student at NYU from 1998 to 2002. How feasible is it to get a degree in astrophysics in just four years? Hell, does NYU even HAVE an astrophysics dept.?
This is fake. and Thank God for that.

What makes this seem bogus is when Rob says
"That's why I was late to the party"
Wasn't it a surprise party?

teh problem i have is that it just fits in too well with the theories and concepts put forward on this and other forums
and i can't see all the ideas churned up so far would actually be spot on.

Rob also can see into the future. It's subtle but there is a small piece of text in the water of the movie poster. It reads: "Rob knows a lot about biology and astrophysiology, but his real talent lies in reading the future.
