I really doubt the college would condone allowing a fake alumnus to use their site for a movie ad. It would really be like, fraud? I guess that's the word i am looking for.

what i thought was needless to say {but obviously isn't}, don't brute force it, with all the issue with school terrorism happening, chances are it will become a fed matter faster than you can say ARG, and just give the ARGing world a bad rep....

Are you an idiot? Seriously, no hacking is needed to solve ANY ARG. And this idea is just retarded. He doesn't actually go to NYU, because he doesn't exist. And hacking NYU's site could easily make NYU demand a pull out of the story in "overnight". This means that because you want to brute force, Abrams may have to redo a complete scene.

I don't know why I'm choosing this of all threads to mark my first actual participation in this discussion, but I suppose everyone starts somewhere.

First off, the standard format for NYU usernames is as follows: first, middle, and last initials followed by what's usually a three-digit number. For instance, xxx123. That's not always the case, but most often. Secondly, I really can't imagine a good reason to attempt to go down this particular avenue. It just has "bad idea" written all over it. I'm sure there are much more productive areas of pursuit.

On the whole, however, let me just say I've most enjoyed following the board these past few weeks. Y'all have been doing awesome work. I just thought I should chime in that it might be best to leave nyu.edu alone.
