ok just an update on the bulletins so far, so we can look at them all at once.. if this has been done already im sorry but there has been updates so I figured id do the tedious task of putting them together.. I added in a few definite solve/clues OR Main speculations under almost each one that is prettymuch concrete.. if I left anyout feel free to post it.

Bulletin #1:
Quote:
Aug 29, 2007 7:20 AM / Think you're clever:
don't you now? Got it all FIGURED OUT? You know nothing, nothing, nothing.

#1 Spec: Could "FIGURED OUT" be capitalized to tell us its an anagram perhaps? Hmm..

Bulletin #2:
Quote:
Aug 29, 2007 7:27 AM / Betray:
1. To give aid or information to an enemy of; commit treason against
2. To make known unintentionally
3. To lead astray; deceive.

The light blinds you, does it not?

Bulletin #3:
Quote:
Aug 29, 2007 7:30 AM / Tresor :
1. Accumulated or stored wealth in the form of money, jewels, or other valuables
2. Valuable or precious possessions of any kind.
3. To accumulate and store away, as for future use.

Don't let your imagination take you too far.

Bulletin #4:
Quote:
Aug 29, 2007 7:35 AM / Come join in the last Hurrah:
now here we are revisiting
a time, a place, a whole inDustry
well wE promise we'll be leaving soon
we share apocAlyptic views
how comforTing that we feel it too

so smile, go inside, come to see there is no sign.

you will be left with notHing.

#4 Clue: DEATH (capital letters)

Bulletin #5:
Quote:
Aug 29, 2007 7:41 AM / Jumbled?:
Layout shove.

#5 Spec: definitely an Anagram..

Bulletin #6:
Quote:
Aug 29, 2007 7:45 AM / Offer:
I am offering everything
You would best do so accept

-Brent

Bulletin #7:
Quote:
Aug 29, 2007 10:29 AM / Frozen :
Remember who I am. I can bribe to get you fired, freeze your back accounts, even put evidence to get you arrested for a crime you did not commit so I suggest you watch your back. You don't wanna end up like Arbor Mimes.

#7 Clue: Arbor Mimes = Mr. Ambroise

Bulletin #8:
Quote:
Aug 29, 2007 3:51 PM / You. :
Where there is money, there is power, and where there is power, there are annoyances.

But..it matters no longer.

Bulletin #9:
Quote:
Aug 30, 2007 7:18 AM / Strike one :
You should not lie to me my friends. You never know what might happen. Isobel capture me!? HA! Actually, it may very well be the other way around.

ok done.. finally.. like i said before, if u see anything i missed, feel free to post it..

Great job, Smooth. Now, layout shove has like a jillion possible anagrams. Unless we can figure out how to narrow it, we're at a block there.

Bulletin #4 has teh word DEATH in caps. But what do we do with that? Or mabye it's a metaphor for how death is inside ev..every..thing... I dunno. That was a stretch.

In a couple of those, it seems as though he's talking to Isobel, no? i.e., Offer.

Random paranoia- I just got the friggin STRANGEST call at work, and my first thought was, "Darn Italians, how'd they get my work number?" But it's likely unrelated.

By now Isobel may have been captured, and possibly tortured for information. Remember- we do NOT negotiate with terrorists. Since I don't have AIM, has anyone been in contact with RB to make sure he's safe? Tell him not to go ANYWHERE alone until we can neutralize this Gianluca threat.

Now you listen heah, jammiesammichstealer. That's enough outta you.

But we haven't lost! Not as long as Brent is still alive and the treasure hasn't been found. It's not checkmate yet, but we may still be in check.

[insert rousing speech to rally the troops here]

wow this is really ending up like adam worsley's thread did... it seems like the ALL KNOWING HACKER prettymuch roadblocked us and our main character vanishes..

hows about we all line up and kick each other in the crotch and call it a day

Ooh oooh! Me first! Better start runnin, jammiesammichstealer.

I'd like to make a point here using posts over at Adam Worsley, in case anyone was as confused as I was.

Me:
Quote:
And so I'm clear (and mods, help me out on this), uF is supposed to be ENTIRELY OOG, right? Meaning, while PMs may read this board, they can neither post nor use information gleaned from teh board as IG. Right? This IS the 4th wall, isn't it?

Rogi:
Quote:
Any good PM who's aware of unFiction can and should use it as a resource to monitor the progress of their game and make any necessary adjustments to their game in an In-game manner.

Posting about a running game on these fora by a PM is a violation of the unFiction Terms of Service. (Space has said a single post to launch a game is allowed, but should be avoided, if at all possible, as there are innumerable better ways of launching a game).

There are exceptions, like puzzle trails in the Timewasters area. Nobody typically minds clues being posted by the trail's creator if done in a friendly, tasteful manner.

Me:
Quote:
But they SHOULDN'T use it to make their characters onmiscient, should they? I mean, I understand (all too well, Tom Tooman...) that players need nudges, and here's where they figure out what we're stuck on, but for IG characters to reference our conversations here just isn't kosher.

Rogi:
Quote:
unFiction absolutely cannot exist In-game.
As Phaedra says, it really messes characters up when they are faced with the realization that they don't physically exist. Actually, I think her term is "They go poof!" or something to that effect.
A PM who directly references posts on these forums only shows their lack of imagination and creativity. If they want their characters to be insightful, they should do the work and not make it look like they copied our homework.

So much for the omnisicient baddies we've been running into. Is my disgruntled showing?

Don't beat me up for the double post

Myspace bulletin from Brent:

Quote:
Looks like you scared someone off, I'm back in. I got up and my password worked. On a new computer too..maybe that was the reason. My laptop near literally fried again so I had to set everything else up on the desktop. I'll be working on setting back my profile to semi the way it was (I didn't save the code that my first layout was from).

-Brent

Dunno if it's real, because there's no hallo/heya, but maybe the pm read the last post...

I'll send a test message.

Here are the changes on his MySpace:

His headline was "cessare e desistare" and it is now "Back in charge."

The Brent is... changed from "adanto" to "back."

The About Me section:
Quote:
Heya guys, I'm back. Whatever this jackass did to you guys, I promise I'll get him back double that. Anyway, things haven't been the best around here...while he's been screwing my online reputation up, he's making us all sweat over here. My name is Brent, going into 12th grade next week and somehow now an amateur treasure hunter. (I'd be nowhere without you guys!)Roosevelt High Seniors!
Note the use of the code...

The Who I'd Like To Meet:
Quote:
Matron, you guys, and Gianluca so I can kick his teeth in.

Nothing else has changed. Background, song, pictures, and blog posts are all the same.

Edited to add MySpace changes.

I just talked to Brent on AIM and he told me to look up Jonathan Coulton after I asked him what kind of music he listened to. I like it. Very Happy

Smile

Oh well.. as long as Brent has his page back.
