Email Phyllis She has sent out the stone and manuscript

Dear Sunny,
The good news from here is that Iris finally convinced James and Chris to stay for at least another week. Then, we all got down to figuring out how to get the stone and page out of the house and shipped off. Our fears were that we are being watched and taking the items out of the house exposed us to considerable risk. What was to stop the DEG's from waylaying us on the way? Or breaking into a mailing facility after we had dropped off the parcels? Just how omniscient are these demons?

Dear friends, we went around in circles for hours and finally decided on a plan of sheer confusion. Since I have packing materials at my shop, I sealed up eight boxes – only two with actual items in them, the rest with ordinary rocks or sheets of paper inside. I addressed them to eight different locations. Each of us took two boxes at random, teamed up with security personnel, and headed off in four different directions from town. When we were as sure as we could be that we weren't being followed,we stopped at one shipping facility and sent off one box. We then rode around until we found another facility and sent our second box. In this way, the DEG's – or whoever – have eight places they would have to break into and ransack. Doing so would bring them the very police and media attention one would think they would choose to avoid.

Also, in this way, Iris, Chris and James don't know which boxes they mailed had real items in them and were sent to our helpers. In the process, even I don't know who will get the page and who will get the stone. I have burned the notes on which I kept the addresses and the receipts from the mailing facilities. So, hopefully,we've erased our trail and none of us, under questioning, will be able to recall all eight addresses or know who got what.

Fondly,
Phyllis
