I got my shirt (and hat) today; same Japanese language paper; same date (7/25); also the Sports section (top half of pages 13, 14, 21, 22, 23, 24). My scanner isn't working, unfortunately. Nicely made products, btw; I'm a happy camper.

Unfortuantely I'm now at work, and dont have the paper clippings in front of me. (in hindsight i probably just shoulda brought them with me). But just wanted to throw out that maybe we should start a newspaper thread with everyone that has one contributing what pages and such they have.

Maybe we are supposed to put it all together some how.

No one seems to mention that they have the bottom of these pages.

Maybe we should try and find a copy of the original paper in its entirety.

I will do my best to post pics of the pages tomorrow.

In the meantime, can we confirm that everyone got the top half of pages 21-22 and then a few other random pages? And if so, can people further confirm that pages 21-22 are on a different color paper than the rest of the pages that they received?

Ichiro Suzuki? I thought they said Hideki Matsui and possibly Daisuke Matsuzaka.

I got my t-shirt and hat today.

The Japanese newspaper I got were the top halves of pages 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, and 22.

I scanned them all in and posted them at CloverfieldClues.com

I agree that I don't believe there are any clues in these articles, but it was just a fun thing to add to the box.

Yep, this link shows the pages I got exactly. I agree the likelihood of clues is low, but I do find it suspect that a) everyone seems to have received 21-22 and then another random 4 pages, and b) I still maintain that the paper is different on pages 21-22, like they were fabricated but that the rest of the paper was "real".

If everyone has at least pages 21-22 in common and they look like they might have been forged, then that's the only reason I'm still mildly suspicious that there's something to be found here.

So you got various newspaper pages which contained various single words in english that clearly stand out among all the japanese. Words including 'Godzilla' and 'DNA'.

And you think it's just a coinsidence?

Well, we can start here at least for now. Pages 13, 14, 23 and 24 are one folded sheet (i.e., 13 and 24 are on one side, 14 and 23 on the other of the same sheet of unfolded paper). There are no additional symbols beyond the date and page number, so we can assume that the entire newspaper is 34 total pages, not including any possible unnumbered inserts.

Is everyone else getting just July 25?

Zaphod...

Please be more specific regarding your post.

Are you saying that these things were circled?

If so... we absolutely have a lot to work with.

GAAAHHHHHHWWWWDDDD I'm not only jealous and envious, I'm totally frustrated. I had to go the scenic route on mine, bank issue - closed my account and I only used the bank card....sooooooooo I had to get on IM and spam my husband in Iraq to get on slusho and order it for me and have it sent BUUUUUUUUTTTTTT they're apparently in communication blackout again and he's not been on in a few days. It's driving me nuts.

F*kin war, jeeezus.

(ahhh gotta keep it in perspective eh? Razz )

Okay, I'm on the side of the fence that none of this is arbitrary and we should consider this novel little addition as CLUE. Why? Because awhile ago when this request was raised, several who decided to join me in emailing slusho about making tshirts had also acknowledged how cool it would be if THEY ALSO SENT OTHER STUFF WITH IT THAT WAS A CLUE FOR US....and hey....newspapers? Come Onnnn....

Of course that is presuming that the BTS camp has been paying attention, and I wholly believe they have since these "guests" appear with a helpful little pointed nod and then vanish into thin air and never register....they're not oblivious to us and NOBODY has made a shred of headway with slusho at all...and the distractions are all about the movie shoots, what the monster's gonna be, tracking down buildings shown in the trailer (for what purpose that's relevant who knows)...and the closest possibl path to anything directly about this flick was Hud initiating mention of seeing footage of comicon at all. We've been flailing...and now papers! (It is media, is it not? Media goes with ARG...)

And don't forget who you guys are here...you're UFers for cryin out loud. You were playing sectorseven that wasn't a grassroots thing and you know damn well that the BTS camp was aware of you then and aware of you now. So why not enjoy this as the bait that it is....and assume it's all a clue or a potential clue until it's ruled out (the opposite of innocent until proven guilty)...like happens on here a lot, like happened with Ethan Haas, people jumped on it for a few days before ya started listening to those of us who did not see the connection and now...not related.

None of these newspapers may be clues at all, and if not, no sweat. But tshirts don't need paper padding...they could've used paper sacks, or plastic....instead they're using pages from a Japanese paper, and apprently they're the same pages. Sure they could've been in bulk but then again, I can get a realistic newspaper with articles about me being a wanted fugitive at Six Flags...it's not hard to fabricate a paper and they'd have the resources to mass produce it. I definitely think we should be massively comparing papers....it's time for one of yall's good old fashioned UF CSI moments here....

That pep talk being waged, maybe the page numbers that are provided are significant as code or some such thing. I definitely think it would not be a waste of time whatsoever to collect the images of the papers we all get (or you all get Sad ) to compare against. Translate them. What if they pulled something in printing that one paper has this word changed, that paper has this sentence changed, and everyone's assuming it's a gag and we miss this too...and the airline website...come ON....those same slusho style animals are on that site. I don't have a clue in hell what any of that says but the animals are quite familiar....I've not even seen a whois on the japanese airlines....

You know....since Rob is gonna go to Japan, chances are he didn't plan on hitchhiking...that could easily end up being the airline he'd be planning on using and doesn't....

They stepped it up on us. Think about it. And for god sakes think laterally! Since that has surfaced as a little game for the 7, or a few of them anyway.... Razz

Now if you'll excuse me I have to go pout I have no Japanese newspaper to scan and share yet.

OH....Question to you guys who got yours: what was the logo like? Was it crackled and "vintage" or was it new and smooth? And if it doesn't look like those pics, maybe we should revisit the store images and have another look?

Zaphod Beeblebrox - in yor post up there, did you mean the numbers you referenced are on the pages of the newspaper in english format?

If so then that's what I was about to point out from that one guy's scans on http://cloverfieldclues.blogspot.com/ - I am seeing english numbers right off in the middle of the foreign text and wtf?

What about the photos? And hey is that guy Satoshi? (from find satoshi! heheh....oh come on, I'm playin).

We got one with a url on it to the airline and then a big full page display of a jet, a globe and what I'm presuming are a stack of tickets.

Where are the translators when ya need them! Razz

Or, has anyone managed to figure out the name of the paper? Maybe there's an online version with english translation we could check?
