That sounds pretty cool. Which book?

So, the British want something from the Grandfather. Maybe Adam's mother was a radical terrorist who faked her own death?
If I recall, Adam's mom was described as British/American. I would think that makes granddad a Brit. Its more likely one of them used to work for the British government than against it. Explains where the pre-1955 MI5 ring came from and the fact the men in black knocked instead of kicked the door down.

M15? Spy group. I forgot what specialty, but they are British.

Lemme look it up.
MI5, not M15. Its essentially British CIA.

Actually that's not quite right. MI5 has a role closer to the intelligence arm of the FBI than the CIA, as it is the intelligence agency concerned with internal British security. MI6 is the British equivalent of the CIA. We must assume that the grandfather is indeed British, or they would have had to account in some detail for why this was not an MI6 matter, I think.

New Post - Adam on the run

New post on Adam's blog:

Quote:
On the run...

Sorry I left last night without explaining myself but I just wasn't safe in that house for another ten minutes. During our chat my computer started going haywire. The screen flickered on and off and my hard drive made strange grinding noises. Finally, my computer just turned off. Right at that moment the house phone started ringing which was strange being 2 or 3 in the morning. I picked up the phone, my hands shaking, and before I could say anything the voice on the other end spoke. A whisper. "Listen Phil, you have to get out of there. They know. They're heading over there now. They'll kill anyone who is in that house. I hope you have done what you promised. If so then this operation is not in jeopardy and they will find nothing. Go to...... Head to the Marriot, I will meet you there." and then he hung up. He had told me all I needed to know. I knew exactly where I would find my grandfather.

I ran. That's all I could have thought of doing. I took my camera and any cash I had with me. If you remmember when we had all hippie. Then you will know where to find me.

-Adam

Not sure what the last bit means yet...

I thought MI6 was more like the NSA? If not, my apologies.

Well, he did work 42 in there, so I'd say its safe to assume its him.

One thing to definitely focus on is "If you remmember when we had all hippie." Obviously, that's way out of place.

Sorry but I think that 'for' and '2' is maybe a bit of a stretch, but there is no reason to not really believe him at this point. I so agree with the hippie statement, it sentence structure doesn't even make sense. Its definitely something to look into. Also there is a couple of Mariot's, but the hotel is spelt with two t's so it could be a typo and this guy on the phone could be meeting him at one in San Franisco? Or maybe a local one in New York.

What other point would there be to make those the only two bolded words in the whole post?

Oh, sorry I thought you bolded those. Okay, then that does make sense. Smile My apologies.

Thats what Uberg33k was pointed out, the bolded words spelled '42'. Smile So it is safe to trust the post.

Anyone get any hits for hippies or Mariot(t)?

I've been looking at anagrams for the weird sentence, but I don't really have anything. So far I have "we had all hippie" as "papa he will hide" and various other things along those lines, but I may be barking up the wrong tree, and I can't make it into anything useful anyway. I've never been much good at anagrams Sad.

The other thing I was thinking is that (as has been pointed out) he said that we should say "21" when he said "42" (and I agree that the bold "for" and "2" probably are supposed to be read as 42). I can't think how that might help us decipher his message though...

possibly anagram? I only say because remember is spelled incorrectly, maybe intentionally.
