[SPEC]Everything we know a lie? Just a thought, but what if all these alleged "leaks" such as that Call Sheet and the recorded filming were all part of a larger stunt? Perhaps this was done on purpose to throw us off-course so we can be suprised when the movie comes out?
Please go easy on the flames.

I did think that a few times. They sure are doing a good job of keeping the info away from us. So the movie could be entirely different from what we expect.

I don't go easy.
It's all fake. There is no movie. We're all doomed.
Now then, let's dance
Oh, and welcome to the uF forums.

I don't know, dude. I can't imagine a production house OK'ing the cost of renting out parts of a city just for a gag. I'm too lazy to look around, but Google the costs of production of a movie and just check out how much it costs to work for one day in a rented house.
In my humble opinion, all of the filming was real. Some asshat grabbed some pictures and leaked them - and to him I tip my hat! I would be really pissed off if I was involved with the production and it got leaked, but that's neither here nor there when it comes to this topic. The filming was real, and we're just going to have to wait and see the movie when it comes out.

I don't know what you guys are talking about with this renting the city block stuff? Do you mean the costs associated with filming outside by the park?
I agree with Helo that the costs associated with filming makes it unlikely the scenes recently shot in NY were simply a diversion.

I don't think... har har ...it's too big of a stretch that some of what we think we know is infact a diversion. Probably not the filming in NYC, but other things like the call sheet. Little things that are easy to fake. Even controlling information by giving misinformation out to people that are likely to leak it. Why not throw out a few-less-than-ideal titles, and see who gets ahold of them?
I know that is exactly what I would do if I were creative enough to accidently cause this much hooplah over a project I was involved in.

I dunno. I'm going with believing the call sheet. I don't think they want to use New York magazine to pass off disinformation about the film. Somehow I think the publicists at New York magazine would not be pleased to be used that way.
One more answer that we will find out some time in the future.

That is one approach. The Lonely Girl 15 folks went another way with the firestorm they created. Who knows what JJ Abrams et al will chose to do?

One thing that still bugs me about the call sheet, though, is the telephone number to National Lampoon. If it's a real call sheet, then why provide that as your NY contact #?

I always figured that to be the clue that it was a red herring. Kind of a reward for those of us that do the research instead of just pointing and blurting when they see something of interest.

they could have put tha fake number down just like how sometimes a famous director dosn't put his real name on a music video.
or so that a billion people like us dont call it, if you're on the crew you probably know what number you need to call if you need to call it.

Yes, but to me it would make more sense to use a telephone number that is not in actual use (such as 555-whatever, for example). Here, they used a real number to an actual business (National Lampoon). Even though NL is known for parodies and such, I can't imagine them being happy getting a bunch of calls from people like us trying to find out more info. on Cloverfield.
I also found it weird that The Vulture never got a C&D letter from Paramount, while just about everybody else who even provided a link to their blog did. If it was a real leak, you'd think that they'd want as much exposure of it as possible.

keep in mind though we never really knew why they send a C&D letter, we just know they did and what it said.
it IS illegal to put the paramount logo on a piece of paper and then use it and say its real, probably even more so in press.
