[UPDATE] [META] Wired Magazine Cover & Article
This month's Wired contains an article on Halo 3

So, I got my monthly copy of Wired and my brother noticed Master Chief was on the cover.

Not realizing that there was a bunch of references to Iris, as well. So I scanned them in.

Cover of Wired

The article in the magazine is actually not about the ARG, however. It's about Bungie's cool new testing facility that they're using to make sure that Halo 3 is absolutely perfect.

Article cover page 1, 2.

Pages 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8.

A nice read.

EDIT: The scan of the cover's color balance was a bit off. I took a pic of the cover so you can see how orange it actually is.

Edit: dang, I was getting an error message when I tried entering it, guess its just my bad computer, I was hopefull..... Oh well, better luck next time .

That's exactly where I left off...
what is 001 012 034 053?
I have this suspicion I've seen them before, but no idea where

So, considering the BPC for server 5 said stuff would happen tomorrow, and it's officially the day AFTER that tomorrow on the West Coast, and this is the only thing that happened on that designated day... Do you think our next clue lies in this magazine, or are they pulling an Ethan Haas on us?

How would they be pulling an Ethan Haas on us. That ended before it started. Most everything has been accounted for. There are a bunch of signs that it's over. That it'll continue in Halo 3.

I think that if we're getting this hyped for what could turn out to be nothing, then we're walking into disappointment. It seems the subtle point that It's over until Halo 3 went unnoticed by everyone other than me. It certainly seems like that's what they're alluding to.

Sorry for posting that everywhere but I think after reviewing the facts, we should assume that it's over. Still keep a watchful eye, but that way we don't go: "Dude! Nothing happened! Iris sucks!"

Apologies for posting this so much.

I just found what 40 KL is. In Halo 2 those letters and numbers appear at the top of the rocket launchers reticle.

ok so i was playing around with the numbers we cant find a reference too and what i first thought about when i saw them was they are the reference to other spartans. so i looked up the numbers of the last three remaining spartans which were linda-58, Kelly-87, and fredrick-104.
so i started adding and subtractiing and poking around with those numbers. so what i got was that when u add 012 twice and then add it to 034 you get 58, Linda's number, then you add 034 and 053 and you get 87, Kellys number, now 2 things are wrong with this, why would bungie disguse this on the cover to this mag when all the other numbers are specificly related to something, and 2 that 104 i cant seem to work out with these numbers. IM probably wrong but what if these numbers are in reference to something we havent noticed yet

Those numbers (001, 012, 034, 053) were related to the countdown timer we saw early on in the game. Those Spartan connections are interesting, though...

GPS coordinates for the caldera in Africa, likely location of the Ark, near Voi. Also spec, but the most reasonable to date.
