i guess those audition scripts could be real but i would imagine they are just to give a flavor of the film and not actual parts of the script, just something along those lines. once they had been cast for the parts then they would see the real script along with the NDA sheets.

We don't ban anyone for reading and posting what they find on other sites unless it is SPAM or NSFW or inflammatory, etc. And the mods are trying to not to lock threads.

You guys are doing a good job of pointing out the real & not believable. The excessive posting of emoticons is not necessary.

When threads are ignored, they will fall to the bottom of the page. So just ignore the trolls. One person points out the error or links to the the previously posted information and then just let the thread die. Easy!

I'm relying on our list of OOG game sites. If something has been determined to be OOG or a gamejack and is posted there, then I will put that in the topic (if it isn't there already.) I don't see 1-18-08news on that list - although I am pretty sure it is a fansite.

And, to use a trout, we need to include a link to the thread where it is referenced already. The link is the evidence that has already been discussed, helps to direct the conversation to that thread if appropriate and gently reminds the player being trouted that this information is not new. (Also, it helps the whole forum function more efficiently.)

Just to reiterate: contribution is good. The forum is all about conversation, collaboration and community to facilitate the players in the game or experience.

FYI: The site admins to decide to ban anyone, or temporarily restrict their account, whatever they think is in the best interest of the forum and in keeping the TOS. Banning is a very limited and judiciously applied remedy.

1-18-08news could have the monster itself tapdancing on my front lawn while singing the Star Spangled Banner and I still wouldn't buy it, largely due to their practices of throwing every rumor/hoax they can get their hands on out there and reporting it as "fact."

One of the folks who commented on that story (32. Digeridude) thinks that it actually came from 28 Weeks Later, a sequel to 28 Days Later. I've seen 28 Days Later, and the vomiting black blood/quarantine zone/military involvement sure sounds like it fits in a lot better with 28 Weeks Later than a giant monster movie.

I love how you all call 1-18-08news.com "fake", but how so? 1-18-08news is a FAN BLOG, not a blog from the directors/associated movie people. Therefore, it can't be fake, or else it wouldn't exist. I will admit that 1-18-08news.com has given bad information in the past, but this time they have a official website to back it up. For those of you people going "there were no auditions because they wanted to keep it a secret", you are idiots. If they didn't do auditions then they would have a huge crowd of fucking bad actors doing this film..something JJ is too smart to do! I will say however, that these auditions were not based on 1-18-08, Abrams probably made them act out a script from a different movie, and not the monster movie that we intended to hear about!
