[SPEC] [OOG]Bloody Disgusting claims... they know the name of movie in a recent post. ...that they know the name of the movie. Read on : http://www.bloody-disgusting.com/news/9816
"Wreck" is probably one of the lamest names though...

Re: Bloody Disgusting claims...
I'm not sure how serious they are. When I first read their post I just dismissed it as them saying that the film - or at least the marketing - was a train "wreck", based on their reference to the many code names the film has operated under. (And /film has a photo - allegedly from a crew member - regarding that)

Nice find, cgsheldon. I think 1-18-08 is better sounding than anything else I've heard.

Wreck has been mentioned before.
I like overnight.
But simply keeping it 1-18-08 would make the film infamous.
imo.

Personally, I don't get it. I think it's important to remember that these sites reporting "exclusives" are getting a lot of traffic and attention as a result(*), and they're trying to make money. Likely, for some, a white lie is worth the pagerank boost. I think that's the case with bloody-disgusting's "Wreck" report. Read it carefully. They're not really saying anything. In fact, all they're willing to "pretty much guarantee" is that the movie won't be named Wreck. Gee, stop the presses! Funny thing is, they're little ploy worked like a charm. Watch for more exclusive from bloody-disgusting telling us what the movie won't be.
(*) I'm new, so apologies if I'm speaking out of turn, but I read a "veteran" of this site getting on some people's cases about 1-18-08/Cloverfield being a waste of time (not an ARG/discussion doesn't belong here), and maybe he's technically right, but it is a mystery/curiosity and what's more, it has probably brought unfiction unpredicted attention and traffic.

For me...
Cloverfield it has been from day one...
Cloverfield it is...
...and Cloverfield it will forever be.
Real name notwithstanding.

Hell, I thought "I8" was good enough for Resistance: Fall of Man.
It appears that "Found" might be another. Lame ass titles, though.

Just to clarify a couple of things:
The purpose of unfiction is to facilitate players playing (read:discussing) games. There really isn't a rule about what should or shouldn't be discussed on the forum or that the forum is only for what we arbitrarily define as "ARGs." In fact, if you look at the META section you can see that the concept of Chaotic Fiction is very broad in scope.
So, please, feel free to post away.

Maybe it'd help some folks to create another label. Call it an 'IPE', Interactive Promotional Experience.
To keep things from being too rigid, perhaps a tagging concept could be applied to these things so that over time a consensus of what each given event is could be formed.
As to all this title talk, as referred to in other threads there's a good chance the title is changing because JJ wants not to be scooped. if JJ doesn't just clam up until he decides to actually announce the title, he may run out of words in the English language to use as the title.

Euchre: I think we gave up on labeling things by calling them all Chaotic Fiction. Labeling a process doesn't indicate much about the nature or the status of that process, so possibly it doesn't really matter. Plus, when a game gets slow, the ARG v. Not an ARG question gives people something to debate. Always handy to have a few META topics to kick around.

English and every other language too. And don't forget he's already used up a few numbers as well
