while we are on the subject of not doing drugs, the governor came to my high school and told us about this new campaign he is starting here called "ZEROMETH". they have already put up some billboards and they are about to launch some tv commercials. now i know it for alabama but the main site is zerometh.com if you want to see the commercials that look like something out of saw more than a public service announcement. i strongly recommend you take a look even if you never even thought about taking meth and dont plan on it.

Hear, hear. I'm quite against hard drugs of any sort, so no worries on my part.

I'm sorry you've lost a friend. I hope you're recovering well enough. <3

Thanks dear.

What's more is that apparently almost all of my friends are and have been hooked on heroin for some time now. I am usually pretty on the ball and I catch things early on, but most of my friends have strange habits anyway, and plus I have been very busy lately so it just flew right over my head. How the fuck does that happen though? I thought none of my friends were stupid enough to even touch the stuff, let alone be full blown addicts.

Heroin: Bad stuff.
Meth: Worse stuff.
Don't do the hard drugs, kids. It's really not worth it. This coming from someone with a family member who, even now she has fully detoxed, will never be the same again.

Meeep.

Ever been glad you waited things out instead of jumping in with both feet and guns blazing, to mix my metaphors? And then, ten seconds later, utterly bummed that things were not as they seemed?

That's how I feel now. I am ever so glad I did not alert this forum to Gogeye (look him up on Youtube, watch in chronological order). Oh man.

SHHHHHHsssss !!! Dont you get it ......

No posting, no videos, no puzzles, no action, is the quintesential joy of this ARG/Game/Chaotic Fiction. Personaly it is tha part I enjoy most. I like checking in every day and seeing no posts. I can just go on with my day. I love finding no puzzles to even have to think about ... I can just get on with my work..... Work ! WORK !!!! Some ARG's with Pm's that care have everything planned out and videoed and typed and pre-puzzled ... but thats the beautiful difference of this game. This is its uniqueness .... LONG waiting periods .... where you think " ok, this thing is over now ...." and then BAM !!!! WHOOhooo ! something to do .... and then llllooooonnnnggggg waiting period again .... and BAM !!!!!! WOOhoo ! Personaly, I think the waiting periods have followed the fibonacci number sequence where we have gone from 1 week to 2 to 3 to 5 to 8 to 13 to 21 weeks .........

I feel like going to all the websites this PM has and posting obnoxious shittee just to force him to do something.

I wonder if one of the reasons all the veterans stayed away from game is that they knew who was going to run it and new the start worked but would fail over time

rant over ... better things to do ... laters ....

I think the waiting time is 42. If it's minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, years... I don't know....
But at least we can keep ourselves entertained by... well... producing silly videos for youtube (which, BTW, the creators of this ARG considered to rely on - heavily. At least that's what I start to think).

Hope this is okay; need help with a geocaching code

I've only posted here a couple of times, so if this is rude or improper I am really sorry and will take my lumps. But I am stuck and desperate, and you guys are the best decoders I've ever seen.

I got this code in a geocache and I don't know what it is or how to decode it. Is there any chance anyone could give me some tips?

Thank you, and if I shouldn't have posted this I am truly sorry.

My aunt got me hooked on geocaching. Was that a code on a cache page, or was it inside a container? It doesn't look like anything you can just decode like base64, hex, binary. I thought maybe each number represented a letter, but since there are no spaces you could only have 10 letters, 0-9. There are a lot of repeating blocks of letters, so Im thinking maybe each block represents a word or letter or somethin...

It was a text file on a thumb drive in a container. I'm bad with codes on a good day, but I can't find a single code that it resembles. Everyone on the local board is stumped, and whoever placed it hasn't come forward.

Interesting... it's very ARG-ish. But I can't think of what it might be. I tried to replace the numbers with letters to see if it was a substitution cipher. Like for the part that says "Additional hint" it would be:

Quote:
iifd aj hbcdd. hbbbcbh giged ha abbfh ibha bh feabbha ajdbh gabhhjhdhdhe. giged bf i bhhbgbca

But there are too many repeating letters in a row, and my substitution program didnt find any solutions. It's probably something easy and we're just overlooking it.

Oh yeah, were there any other possible hints? Like maybe the name of the text file, or the name of the hard drive, anything like that?

What would be useful:
The coordinates of the container (or at least meant to be found, we "muggles" love to move them - and some other cachers who try to be nice).
The name of the file.

I wonder if
Quote:
8121176 401112 011117 9317.

actually means something like "Additional hint", as the line following that is the additional hint Logan posted.

BTW, there's a cache close to my hometown... not that I'm into that...

Solved!

Cache is not located at above coordinate, couple years back five lives were lost at sea and only three were found.

This monument was built to remember those who died. Lets keep them and their families in our prayers. Cache is located at north one three two eight one three zero east one four four four two two one two.

HINT-

Base of tree.
Turn cache to dust and it should open completely. Cache is micro.

The cacher came forward and gave some additional hints.
