I think an inhale at the beginning of a booming roar makes more sense, though.

Than a cuckoo clock chiming as the Statue of Liberty's head bounces off a New York City skyscraper? Yeah, I'd agree.

We need to focus on the meaning of the roar... why bla bla

pegassissy wrote:
Ill say this and many people may dismiss this b/c we all have our own ways of doing things and thats fine by me at least. I said earlier, but then we just started to make jokes, we need to relax. Remeber this is a "game"/marketing thingy that parmount put out, and my guess is as good as any but ild say this film comes out sometime in Januray. We have plenty of time to figure this out, think about what the roar means instead of listening to it 100 times. Its not the roar, its the roar's meaning. seriously, take some time off step away from the computer and go outside or something. Think about it, its meaning that is. JJ said the roar is the biggest clue or something like that. I think he meant the significants of the roar, not the roar itself. Please stop talking about how much the roar scared you, we all pooped ourselves. Instead of analyzing the roar THINK ABOUT IT.'

This is my first post. I'm sorry it has to be a negative one, I've been following the 1-18-08 info on this site for a while and everything is fun and great, but mannnn....I wish that pegassissy dude would stop talking about the meaning of the roar.... I agree that actually disecting the clip might not reveal anything, but it's not some religious thing we need to meditate on and have some revelation... it's the damn monster roaring. It's more probable that there is some clue to the film embedded in the sound then trying to figure out the "why's" and "what's" the roar represents. Derrrrr.

Razz I agree with the guy above on this, personally I think we need to do neither (analyse or think), but everyone knows that, and is just passing the time.

I never think.

Roar/Whale(s)/Robots on Flavor Page...
Whales....yep.

Yes, it does have a whale-ish sound to it. That is because there is some whale connection to this whole film, as we all know. Just like the whale "clicks" and weird sounds when you play around with the robots flavor-sliders and feet areas on the Slusho! flavor page....

(This has been mentioned somewhere I hope...?)

This is a whale of a campaign, JJ!!!!!!

woo-hoo!

bloop! (Excuse me.)

yes, that's what I was trying to say.

I let my cousin hear it and she thinks it may be whale related too.

But, a huge whale/whale-like creature terrorizing NYC?
Give me a second to take that in...
I'm trying to figure if I should even bother anymore
if its anything whale related...
it'd be disappointing to me. But, that's just me.

same here ,i do find it dissapointing if it is a whale ,however i am scared by the fact that they are humungous and seeing anything that big and alive close to you would be scary as hell

Don't get me wrong...I'm still curious.
But, I probably won't go see the movie until someone
tells me its worth seeing...if it is a whale.
I don't give up that easily though.
And if its anything whale related that better be one kick ass
whale.

This may be a really stupid theory, but hear me out...please?
It's not as stupid as Voltron. I promise.

I was thinking about something earlier and I'm not sure if this has been mentioned already, but whatever this creature is...it sure doesn't like humans. I think the reason it bit off the head of the SOL was because the creature thought it was a human.
so whatever this may be has a serious grudge against humans perhaps?
Which could also mean it is a pre-existing animal that people have messed with a lot...like ruin its habitat.
I don't know. Trust me I'm not this over analytical over movies.
But, its 3 am and I can't sleep...I'd figure I'd kill time trying to figure this out with you guys.

Anyways, biggest whale huh?
*googles*
