That would be almost as stupid as if they made a War of the Worlds game. And they didn't.

I don't know, I think this could be a good game. And I'm not sure that a First Person run-like-hell-for-your-life game wouldn't have something to offer itself. It could be like what we're doing here; you spend most of the game trying to figure out what the hell the monster is and where it came from, and then in the last level you figure it all out...just in time for it to rip you to shreds.

ok........

after six days walkin miles over miles on that gaming and esports exhibition
(even meeting fatal1ty himself on the esports award show, he signed on my xacti sd cam Very Happy) back @ home in cologne

there is not really something big to say about

this thing was not presented by an publisher, but from a game coding company

first of all why i thing its def related to the mov is cause inside of the small presentation area, they put an 360° grafic inside where you could see the skyline of new york and at the bottom of the grafic you could see some green, so it should be liberty island

and the grafical style was similar to the poster

and what they presented was only a command line,
like back in the old days with ms-dos

and the presenter typed in "what happened?"

and like in chat, there came one answer "it was horrible!"

and thats it crazy somehow

but then i remembered jj's shirt on that comic con "infocom"

look for infocom on wiki you will see what i mean^^

... A Game of Cloverfield ...

... Could actually be quite spooky and effective Shocked , if done properly - lots of shadowed areas, rife with the scuttling, hungry 'hunters' looking for a bipedal version of a happy meal, and of course, said bipeds trying not to get crushed under massive amounts of debris as 'big momma/daddy' goes stomping through the city without warning - just spitballin' a few ideas at this late hour (longtime lurker - first night postings)..! Laughing ...

what i wanted to explain with that

it would be really a funny coincidence that theres the applied grafix in this room with the skyline of ny with one weird "presentation" of a game or call it whatever, that looked like the old infocom text command line adventures and jj had this shirt from infocom @ comic-con

i can only say what was there

but i also think, the overall scenario is nothing special skyline ny and a weird mysterious game presentations to hype it

so lets hope it has really something to do, it would fit perfectly to the style of the movie

simplified moviemakin....... handcam

simplified gaming....... text only adventure

i asked them for a release date of whatever this thing should be and they had no additional infos for anyone asking

i dont know what i should think of... is it related is it not

personally i would appreciate it, cause i loved to play all the infocom adventures in the early 80's

thats very interesting... i highly doubt that what you are describing would be an actual "video game" in the classical sense. What it might be is that they were demoing a new ARG game to people in the "ARG business" and that will become part of our experience in the months to come.... it would play out a lot like the johnmonad.com website that was viral marketing for that shitty john from cincinatti show... where its just a text box and you enter commands which brings up clips/text... i dunno.. it just sounds way too " hey check out this cool shit we came up with for jj abrams new ARG/viral marketing campaign" than an actual video game. Time will tell.
