i dont think we'll ever find out any real meaning for "i saw it its alive its huge" mainly because i dont really think it has much meaning i think a freaked out guy who saw whatever was smashin up NYC (and then somehow got blocks and blocks away from it but hell i'd be runnin too) and yelled that.
i think i'd be screaming "SON OF A F***KIN B**** RUN FOR YOUR MOHTER F***ING LIVES WE'RE ALL GOING TO DIE"
but thats just me

I'm starting to think that the dude in the trailer was just a big fat liar trying to start rumors, and whatever it was is really dead and small. The trailer is totally OOG, and I'm a little suspicious of 1-18-08.com because it's got that roar now, too. Totally a gamejack....

Exactly.
That's why I suspected in the first place. Cause, tribute aside, it's not someone one would normally say. It's alive? Uh.. alright.
If someone asked me what was going on, the right answer is exactly what you said.
Step 1. Swear
Step 2. Tell everyone else to run
Other than this, maybe something like "It's gonna get us!" "It's destroying the city!!!" or "IT'S VOLTRON! RUN!"
But whoever wrote the dialogue specifically chose that line.
We're down to three possibilities.
1. It was a tribute to past monster flicks.
2. It was to make sure there was no ambiguity to what was causing the attack.
3. It was specficially said with a deeper meaning in mind.
Pick, pick, pick!

2.) I still also believe that it's a nod to old monster movies, beginning with the 1931
Frankenstein that had Colin Clive as Dr Frankenstein screaming,
"it's alive, it's alive!" and continuing through the monster movie era.
That supports my point; the one of, it's not meant to be alive but it is. That's why Dr. Frankenstein yelled it. Because the monster was dead, but now it's alive. That's reasonable, and fairly good writing. In the same way, I believe that guy on the street was yelling 'it's alive' because whatever he saw just wasn't supposed to be.
Creepy!
But as I myself said earlier, sometimes a cigar is just a cigar. I could be looking WAY too deep into it.
You know what, screw it.
It's actually a trailer for the Speed Racer movie.
Mystery solved.
(P.S. as for the shirts.. no clue at all what it could be. It looks like he designed and made it himself. J.J. did say he went to Japan and was inspired to make their own monster movie. Does anyone know WHEN he came up with the concept? Because putting it in the time frame, that'd be about a couple years ago when he had that T-shirt. He might have, MIGHT have conceptualized, and the shirt is something HE made for himself (yeah, like he couldn't?) and was an extremely early idea/prototype for this monster movie. We already know that Slusho has made appearances in Alias before, long ago. So this monster movie is a tie in with a lot of ideas he had at the time. I think it's quite possible that this shirt has some sort of relation to this current project. A beta, if you will. I've never seen anything like it otherwise.)

Damn straight!
We can only trust... SLUSHO.

There you go...I'm sold.
Oooh, there's nothing I hate more then paying for a movie and watching a bunch of commercials leading up to a much longer commercial.

You know, I started out joking, but all this spec about the creature and everything else has forced me to look at things from more angles then necessary. I can actually buy (no pun intended) this theory as a possibility. I really need a nap.

Always helps to keep an open mind =)
For me, what I want to know now is the significance of adding the line that the mother or whatever was killed by the evil drink conglomerate in the history.
And this secret deep-sea ingredient... It's... it's calling to me!
the mascots are so strange... =(
Well, I wait for the day some creepy-ass shit goes down. If anyone remembered the hanso foundation site, when you talked to Joop the monkey and the whole site became corrupted... that sent chills down my spine. If such a happy innocent world like Slusho suddenly becomes all fuxxored up like that... *shudder*

actually, there's quite a possibility... the 'robots' ARE breathing... or at least making that sort of movement... and robots don't need to breathe... who's to say they are robots?

I had to go back and check that and you're right...
... they definitely give the impression that they're breathing.

It's not a damn robot. It's a giant monster. If JJ wanted to make "our own" Godzilla, he wouldn't make it a stupid robot called Chocolate Rage.
Unfortunately, I have to agree. A giant mascot coming to life isn't scary, it's hilarious. Ever seen Ghostbusters? Actually, I think there was a Simpsons Treehouse of Horror episode roughly along the lines of giant mascots coming to life...
Also, about the "they didn't expect it to be alive" thing; When there is a giant explosion, nobody assumes that something huge and alive is attacking the city. They think "terrorists", or "accident". So you can imagine the guys surprise when he realises that a huge monster is squishing up the city.
For someone who doesn't believe in overanalyzing the facts, I think you're overanalyzing the "alive and huge" thing.

The Lotus I think it is the lotus at the top of the cup. a monster lotus would make perfect sense. as dumb as it sounds, it is a lot better that lion/voltron/kattos/godzilla. when JJ has said so many times it is original, especially compared to a robot. How many giant robots are there, then, how many giant lotuses?

A giant flower? If it ate people and wasn't pink, I guess it could be scary... but I don't see how it could attack and roar and swim and blow stuff up.
