The symbol on the note is a triskelion or triskele.
It's been used in many movies, comics and games as a weapon, also.

Ah ha! That plus the new picture on the page lead me to http://geocities.com/TriskelionHarlequin/

Its not a rot and I'm too tired to do a freq. analysis (I just got home from a concert). That'll have to wait till morning.

We also have the point of the game now

From the page Beef uncovered...
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
the more modern version, though.

you've gotten this far in such a waltz,
can you continue?
it's a series of movements.

there are still more after.

it is the next step that stumps you-
and your partner is ethereal.
it's only because they're dead.

"Remember me!"
A riddle for sure, but I'm drawing a blank. I'll have to think on that a while.

hmm I also got the email.. interesting. Wasnt there some sort of fictional novel with "Harlequin" in the title? I'll have to check on that..

I am in no way familiar with Warhammer... i remember playing the very first game for a little while when it first came out... i think it was on playstation? lol like I said, a while ago.. I hope the whole game doesnt involve warhammer, if so I cant catch up.. we'll see I guess.

Im currently involved in a bunch of ARGs but I will try to follow this one as best as I can.. anyways, time to do some gumshoeing

HMM: I believe I found what I was talking about above.. a fiction book called "The Harlequin" written by Anita Blake, deals with vampires and vampire hunters.. it doesnt seem to be one of the cheesy ones though. It looks to be one of the well written ones just like the ones written by Anne Rice..This probably doesnt relate but I thought Id show what I was thinking of when the word Harlequin was said..

CHECKTHISOUT:

About halfway down the page there is a image called "Sonic Theater"

DanseMacabre = Dance of the Dead
Quote:
WIKIPEDIA: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Danse_Macabre

DanseMacabre:

Dance of Death, also variously called Danse Macabre (French), Danza Macabra (Italian and Spanish) or Totentanz (German), is a late-medieval allegory on the universality of death: no matter one's station in life, the dance of death unites all. La Danse Macabre consists of the personified death leading a row of dancing figures from all walks of life to the grave—typically with an emperor, king, pope, monk, youngster, beautiful girl, all skeletal. They were produced to remind people of how fragile their lives were and how vain the glories of earthly life were.[1] Its origins are postulated from illustrated sermon texts; the earliest artistic examples are in a cemetery in Paris from 1424.

SOME MORE INFO:

Like I said before, I know nothing of Warhammer, but I saw this on the DanseMacabre Wikipedia Page:

Quote:
In Warhammer Fantasy Battles, the Vampire Counts army contains a spell called Vanhel's Dance Macabre which allows undead units to move forward in the magic phase.

also, this caught my eye:

Quote:
A danse macabre is depicted in part by the vampires of Theatres Des Vampires in Anne Rice's novel, Interview with the Vampire.

Ok. If this is a coincidence, its a pretty big one, but the author I had mentioned before, Anita Blake, not only wrote a book called "The Harlequin" but ALSO wrote another book called "Danse Macabre".. this may be TOO big of a coincidence... could this be where the PM got the inspiration for this story? Or maybe it directly relates to the story?

What do you guys think?

BTW - "The Harlequin" Story took place about a month after "Danse Macabre".. not sure if that is even relevent, but im an information frenzy kinda mood

Quote:
Editorial review for "The Harlequin"

http://gocertify.com/0425217248/The_Harlequin_&40;Anita_Blake_Vampire_Hunter_Book_15&41;.htm

Anita Blake is about to face the challenge of her life. Into her world-a world already overflowing with power-have come creatures so feared that powerful, centuries-old vampires refuse to mention their names. It is forbidden to speak of The Harlequin unless you've been contacted. And to be contacted by The Harlequin is to be under sentence of death.

That last line is why I remembered about 'The Harlequin" being a book... for some reason that last line stuck in my head when I heard the commercial on tv..

OK im sorry for the dbl post but I couldnt keep editing the last one.. too much information for one post... anyways, I am completely stumped by the Geocites/Dansemacabre page. It seems to be a riddle, but I get the feeling as if there are sentences either missing from it, or the sentences need to be rearranged in order to understand it better... anyways there is one line I need to clarify:

Quote:
and your partner is ethereal

Now I know the basic gist of the word ethereal, but I wanted to be positive of the exact meaning if i am to understand this riddle completely...

Quote:
Wiktionary Definition of Ethereal:

1. Pertaining to the hypothetical upper, purer air, or to the higher regions beyond the earth or beyond the atmosphere; celestial; as, ethereal space; ethereal regions.

2. Consisting of ether; hence, exceedingly light or airy; tenuous; spiritlike; characterized by extreme delicacy, as form, manner, thought, etc.

3. Delicate, light and airy.

So, im guessing its telling us:

and your partner is a spirit (?)

hm..

You got it. The ethereal / they're dead thing is kinda redundant, so I'm sure its some riddle I'm missing. I think the riddle clues are mostly contained to the first sentence and the last paragraph. The rest of it sounds similar to the same stuff posted whenever a picture or clue is updated.

I had the same take on the last two lines so, I've been sifting through song lyrics for the past hour but, haven't found those lines.

It's Hamilton's The Harlequin. It's the next step after the more-modern Danse Macabre in the Anita Blake Series, and most of Anita's partners are undead. Or just dead.

Which leads me to believe she is in no way connected with Warhammer, Batman, or anything pre-existing. I think she is her own game.

Danse Macabre (first performed in 1874) is the name of opus 40 by French composer Camille Saint-Saëns.

The composition is based upon a poem by Henri Cazalis, on an old French superstition:

Zig, zig, zig, Death in a cadence,
Striking with his heel a tomb,
Death at midnight plays a dance-tune,
Zig, zig, zig, on his violin.
The winter wind blows and the night is dark;
Moans are heard in the linden trees.
Through the gloom, white skeletons pass,
Running and leaping in their shrouds.
Zig, zig, zig, each one is frisking,
The bones of the dancers are heard to crack—
But hist! of a sudden they quit the round,
They push forward, they fly; the cock has crowed.

Good job, although I would spoiler most of that for the kids playing along at home. I never would have gotten that in a million years since I've never even heard of the books.

However, I have the next step because I am a beer snob.

Between the alcohol reference and the Gaelic at the bottom, this was far easier to figure out

Edit : maybe that's not the right page. It exists, but when you read the clue on it, it sounds like a dead end.

The Irish Gealic phrase (Go hIfreann leat!) at the bottom of the new page is "To Hell with you!", so I'd guess the reference would be about a good Irish stout.

Yeah, I spoilered the site where you found that text, see above. How did it lead you to the next site? That solve makes no sense to me.
