I missed that.

Things are easily overlooked if they're editted in an old post. Smile

Sorry, I was trying not to spam up the thread

This new encoding

is weird. I can't really pin point the encryption type. There's no such thing as two repeated letters and then three repeated letters in the English language, so this is more than a simple substitution.

I noticed the filename too, I checked and there is a cipher called Phantom, but I can't download the tool here at work, and I really don't think that's it, but worth checking into~

Also, that encryption type looks really familiar, I just can't seem to remember what it is D:

I think I found the tool you speak of. It codes to a 128 bit or 256 bit block cipher. That would be a large step up in difficulty if it were what we're aiming for. I don't think that's it just because the length of the message is so short.

That was my reasoning too~ Let's hope x3;

EDIT: I think I remembered what it reminds me of, the htpasswd generated userinfo used for simple web protection, but it can't be that :/ Also kind of reminds me of the PHP encrypt function~

But then again, did you think it would be?

Perhaps a harder encryption is the key.

Unfortunately I can't DL any software here at work; if that's the case.

I'm thinking because of the multi letter streaks, its polyalphabetic, like a playfair cipher.

At another glance, it almost appears that it could be a substitution cipher that has been also turned into an anagram.

And the only way I could think to solve that would be to run all 26 caesar shifts through an anagram solver o_O Which of course would take a small eternity without some kind of key Mad

Credit to Twee for the solve.

The cipher : http://rumkin.com/tools/cipher/ubchi.php phantom is the keyword

The plaintext :
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The Harlequin can blend in with the clowns.

Edit : I've tried a bunch of things with that plain text and can't get to the next page. I wonder if the picture is critical to the puzzle?

Nice! I hadn't even tried using 'phantom' as a key D:

That's the hard part down I guess Smile

Well, let's think of the key words here.

Clowns. Circus, and of course, Harlequin.

Where can we go from there? It seems to me we're supposed to find something.

That mask in your avatar sure looks like the Harlequin's mask ...
