If you're gonna emulate human movement in any way, what's more humanoid than a human?
Motion capture is nothing more than glorified guy in a suit anyway, so it's totally feasible. Aw, I miss people destroying miniature cities.

You know, I thought about that while i typed it and hoped it wouldn't happen, but I'm very sensitive to ear worm triggers, also. Sorry... Dunno

The horror movie to end all horror movies

I wonder why people keep comparing Monster movies to horror movies. They're not the same thing. They don't have the same emphisis on blood and gore.

Horror hasn't even been use to market the teaser, yet.
We've got Monstrous, Terrifying and Furious.

I guess they could put a Horrifying poster out, but lets hope this monster doesn't start running around with a BFK slicing people's throats

/OT

I think it'll just be bits of a CGI creature.

Zilla (the "American Godzilla"), was in the Godzilla: Final Wars. ToHo used CGI in the movie for that character only, and it held up, until Godzilla killed it.

i agree with the lot of you folks. given the budget and abrams obvious love of not overdoing things, i feel we will see just enough of the monster to make our imaginations go nuts and then we'll fill in the blanks. which i'm praying for; that would be horrifying... for me personally.

when i was about ten i wandered away from my grandparents at sea world and walked up this carpenters ladder that was next to a giant aquarium. when i got to the top i peeked in over the tub and saw nothing but brackish, dark-green water. i looked for minutes hoping to see something and never did. it scared the shit out of me and i still can't handle even the simplest scenarios involving water.

so i guess i'd say i agree with what lovecraft says for certain.

"The greatest fear mankind has is of the unknown. Knowledge brings power, and without knowledge there is no power. This is what human kind fears the most, being powerless."
I'm studying to be a physciartrist, and i read something like this in a bokk about a year ago. So, yes ill agree. Wouldn''t it be genios if jj never shows us the monster, and a title never comes out. It would be sweet. Do you guys know why people fear the dark? Mainly because they are powerless.
