ok, I'm sorry I brought up the gamejack thing, I posted the gamejack comment as a bit of humor. The more important evidence is ShiningFist's comment that Barnaby says his creator is DENNISE Sqaulor.

Does anyone have any new leads? Because at this point I'm just plain stumped and I can't get any straight answers out of Ty

Yeah, I think Ty has stopped responding to me...

And I've been trying EVERY method possible to try and find that stupid password. I've looked deeply into every website/blog/encoded message. I can't find ANYTHING in it! GAAAR!

I ask Barnaby Dawson who Dennise Squalor is.

Apparently He/She is a celebrity...

something different..

Hello, I am new here. I've been reading along about TEC and I did a bit of poking around...forgive me if this has already been posted. I checked back in the thread and don't recall seeing this so I'll throw it out there:

http://www.jeffreysomers.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=11

It just looked strange and perhaps it could be part of the game? Anyone know DeadlyAccurate? And how is it she's already read the book?

Here is a link to DeadlyAccurate aka Carla Harker's website: http://www.carlaharker.com/blog/carla/

Hmm...this whole Jeff Somers thing doesn't sit well with me. I mean, Jeff Somers seems to be behind the curtain, but there's a link to his webpage on the electric church site. So...does that make his site in-game? Or is it just sloppiness? A disclaimer? Slap you in the face advertisement/self promotion? It certainly doesn't sound like Jeff is IG, what with talk of players emailing him for puzzle answers. Not very TINAG if I do say so myself.

So if Jeff's webpage is out of game, then I'm not sure any people posting on his website, or in his forums, are IG characters, or that information on their webpages will help us with the electric church game. Again...it could be slopiness/poor form, in which case these people ARE IG.

Anyway, it is possible to get an advanced copy of books before they are released to the public. When i worked at Barnes and Noble we got advanced copies all the time.

I think the book link on his website is a disclaimer. I mean. Think if some one were to accidentally trips onto that site. They see all the weird crap, they aren't ARGers, and they don't have proof that it is a promotion, plus It seems to elaborate for it to be a kid trying to scare people. Its quite obvious that they would call the cops thinking its the website for a cult of some sort. I would certainly put TINAG aside so that i wouldn't be reported to the FBI, accused of being the leader of a cult that doesn't exist.

Maybe if the PMs were paranoid, but there are plenty of other ARGs that don't flagrantly flash behind the curtain info the way this is doing. And, unless you're privy to some information about scientific break-throughs in cybernetics, i hardly think the FBI would take this website seriously. I don't see how it's quite obvious that someone who stumbled on this site would have the immediate reaction of calling the FBI. Unless they were the sort of person who calls the FBI whenever a black car drives by his house.

It sort of ruins the immersive experience if the man behind the curtain is jumping around, waiving his arms at us.

I don't know, this doesn't seem like one of those completely immersive ARGs. I think the Author wants us to know about his book kind of like the Halo ARGs, we know from the start that it's an advertisement but it just sort of serves to enhance the product itself

I don't want to get into a whole meta discussion about TINAG, but as far as I've read, I love bees was an immersive experience and I don't think that everyone knew from the get go that the game was a plug for Halo.

My point is, that whether the game is an advertisement for something or not, whether it's big or small, a link to Jeff's oog website on the front page of the game's main page is bad form.

ETA: getting back on track here, i've tried to email the-electric-church twice now and both times the email gets sent back to me...has anyone else had this problem?

I was speaking more about the newer Halo ARG, Iris but as you said, that's off topic. As for the EC's e-mail address I've had the same trouble, I've only been able to get through to Ty not the Church itself.

I seriously think we are going to have to wait until the book comes out to get the password for the tkieth login. Clearly the designer of this ARG was either a complete noob, convinced that his puzzles would take over a month to get to, or he knew we'd get there fast and wanted us to wait to build suspense and desire of the bok and answer. Both are laaaaame. Posting an ARG that comes to an abrupt halt that can't be overcome by anything but a one month wait?

They should have launched the TEC (ARG) website in mid-september and kept the site with all the book information running until mid september

I tried to contact Ty right on TEC website in the little chat box, and he wouldn't respond with anything except, "I'm a bit busy here." :-\

EDIT: I just tried to talk to Ajax, asking him random questions. The only new-ish responses I received are these:

I haven't slept in years /// I think I may be going insane /// Hello. Can I interest you in some information about the Electric Church?

A priori.

Sometimes I hear a voice screaming in the back of my head. It is a familiar voice, but I can't place it.
